you could always do the famous triumph with a stripper deck. but you have to put the deck behind ur back.... still, it works well. My first trick I bought from a store was a stripper deck. It wasnt very good quality, and it was marked too. The markings were extremely difficult to read, and they werent rider back. They were pretty fun to play around with though. Are the USPCC ones on the site?

On my site, no, but they're available from http://www.internationalmagic.com.

Not that i know of but there is a deck called "the amasing magical wonder deck" it is stripped and marked it's great. I have it, it also comes with a nice box to put it in and some gaffed cards. google it, it's great. i need a new one mine is getting old.

I think t he most important thing if you're using a stripper deck is that it should look like any other regular deck. If it doesn't, or if your handling or patter draws attention to it, it's game over. I'd be inclined to start with good quality stripper deck on bike stock and either mark it myself or use a stack.

What's really interesting about the latter suggestion is that many incredible tricks rely on a small stack of cards, but you have to set these up beforehand. With a stripper, however, you can keep track of several such blocks and bring each into play when you need them in a routine. You can crank up the magical factor several notches if you perform simple tricks such as Poker Player's Picnic from a demonstrably shuffled deck.

EDIT: Buddha on a bike deck! Has anyone seen how many views this thread's had? It's more than a programme on BBC3! Surely they can't all be looking for naked ladies...

I wish the stripper deck had a different name, My Adwords ads always get held for review when they've got the word stripper in!

Edit: It's only had 6,000 views or so, the same as most of the other threads!

Most people, who call themselves professional magicians say that
using a stripper deck is wrong, or un-professional.

Yet, I have fooled many professionals magicians, doing normal card
tricks using a stripper deck. a good example of what I mean is a trick
I do where the spec is asked to take the deck and lay cards down in
2 piles in any order they wish, and at the end all reds end up in one
pile, while all the blacks end up in another. now this trick takes setting
up to perform it, but I can set it up in a stripper deck then do other
card tricks with the deck, and even show them the deck is mixed up
yet the stripper allows me to set up the deck with what looks like a
few shuffles and I can then do the trick. and I can do it later on if
I choose to.

The thing is if you don't use a cheap stripper deck then the
spec's will never notice, and the cards can be used like a
normal deck, and they help me with my sleights in allowing
me to do things right in front of the spec's.

This does not take away from the skills of sleights it just enhances it.

professional magicians have asked me on a lot of my card tricks
what method I used, when I tell them it's the same as they
do, they say, but how? you did not have time to setup for that.
then I tell them the deck was a stripper, them being a magician
starts to realize just how powerful of an effect it is if you just
use the deck for small things like I just suggested.

I myself have all the trick decks, and I use them in discrete
ways. I know 8 different deck switch's so no one will catch me
because I alternate the methods. so as for the Svengali deck,
after a show, people will swear I turned them all the same and
back again and they got to look the deck over afterwards.
in fact I have walked into a bar, found out they had a deck of
cards that matched mine(Bicycle blue) I started with their deck
and ended with their deck and did card tricks for well over 2
to 3 hours, and used Svengali, stripper, Invisible, etc and no one knew I had ever swapped them in and out. everything I do
is natural and with the flow of things, and I have never been caught.

This why I am picky when it comes to buying my trick decks
somewhere. they need to be High quality, and I have to have
the choice of both red or blue backs, other wise I will not buy
from those places that don't allow you to pick, But I don't buy
my Svengali decks, because I can't choose what I want so what
I do is I buy a one way force deck at places I can choose the
force card. I then am able to make 2 Svengali decks of that card.
so far I have 12 Svengali type decks, 2 each, I hope to have
all 52 someday. LOL
Also I would like to tell others who may shy away from decks
or tricks that leave you dirty. what you need to lean is sleights.
sleights or methods that can allow you to un-dirty yourself.
but this alone will not help, what you REALLY need to learn to
do is take complete control of your audience. such control that
they never interrupt a trick and never ask to look at something
before your ready for that. the way you do it is in how you grasp
their attention and pull them along with you, and you never let
their attention leave until your now ready to have anything
looked over.

This is why I feel most magicians shy away from trick decks
or any tricks that leave the magician dirty. it's because they
have never really learn how to take control. I started magic
when I was 6 doing a lot of tricks in school, by High School I
learned how to control even the worst hecklers and pull off
the most dirty tricks, leaving me clean when I was done.
Now I am 50 years old, and I have seen many kinds of Audiences
and have been able to click with any audience I find myself
in front of.

So don't shy away from those dirty tricks because doing so
will hinder your ability to learn the most important thing in
magic, Control and performance. that's more of magic then
the secret of the trick.
