How long did it take you ricky

I actually seem to have got it, well just the two cards coming off but they aren;t coming off flush more one after the other.

It took me a while! i didnt practice solidly or anything, but i found it started to improve after a few weeks of the occassionaly practice.

To fix the problem of them not coming off flush, reach over the pack with the other hand and kind of twist the cards over, squaring as you go. Its hard to explain really, but if you get the DVD i mentioned (or another that teaches it) it would make more sense. If anybody else knows what i mean and would care to elaborate more clearly then please try!

EDIT: I think it was actually Crash Course 2 i meant, not 1, sorry!

Yeah yeah I know

The thing is Expert card technique was teh first book I got on card magic (not a good move) so I wasn't too hot when I first tried to learn all these different methods of DL. At the time I didn't really see the point in mastering this move when I could just get a break. Now I know a bit better, but it would take a long time before I would be confident that I could always push off 2 cards.

I will give it a shot all next week, and I'll tell you how I get on

It also took me a long time to get this one right. I practiced a lot on new and old decks. The pressure varies depending on how worn the cards are. Now, it's the only D/L I do. Well worth time spent!. After you get this down make sure keep the habit of sliding cards out of the deck the same way or else it may raise suspicions.

It seems like a damn hard move to me. I've been practicing it on and off for a while but still can get it perfectly clean and with any consistantcy. I'll keep coming back to it and hopefully it'll click sooner rather then later. It's so much more natural looking when done right then the DL I use now.

The method given in the multiple lift section of ECT, IS NOT a normal double push off!

It is an extremely 'knacky' kind of move, that very few people in my experience have mastered or use. In fact I have never seen it in use or even mentioned in any other books, with the exception of the 'Collected Works of Alex Elmsley' where he too mentions how unreliable it is.

Anbody feeling they haven't mastered it from this section of this book please don't lose heart! Find some other double push off/ double deal sources and you'll be up and running in no time.

Marlo's RCT is good but there are numerous other sources.
