This all reminds me of a Jonathan Creek thing...I think it went something like:

I'm still waiting for Blockbuster Online to send me a Jonathan Creek. I mean, how rare can these damned things be? Or is the whole nation sat watching all million and one series?

I used to have Blockbuster online, but then there was some...... 'unpleasantness'..... i can never go back!

Basically my mom accidentally fried the Sin City DVD i rented on the hob plates. It was melted, but i sent it back saying it was damaged and they said that it had 'snapped in transit'.

Some theiving postie somewhere keeps on stealing the blue packets in transit. There's no one else it can be. I've had things simply vanish, arrive opened (which is difficult to do) and sometimes not arrive here but arrive back at Blockbuster already watched by someone else!

Grrr... Still, if you can get through 6 disks a week, it's only 50p a go.

How the bloody hell did it end up on the hob plates in the first place? I've had some unpleasantness with blockbuster in the past They sent me the wrong movie and also sent me another one which c*** (not the best) sound quality and they also claimed I still had a movie when I had sent it back but it got put down to lost in post lol Never had them unopened or vanish thats unfortunate - you must live close to some movie loving cheapskates lol

Also they sent me final destination 3 and it doesn't have choose their fate as a bonus feature and when you rent some dvds they don't have the same extras on there like they have in the shop and you can wait ages for the dvd you want and they don't send you any - that happened to me for about ten days I had no dvds even though I had about 35 on my list!

Tescos also do the dvd rental service i think. Its slightly cheaper as well. Never tried it though.

The one thing i didnt like about Blockbuster is that they would send you the DVDs in a different order than they are on your list. I placed the entire first season of 24 on there in the right order, and they sent disks 2 and 4 first, and then 1 and 5 with sin city.

EDIT: I also dont know how they ended up on the cooker, my mom picked up the post while i was out. And then started cooking. I think there was even some bolognase sauce on the blue sleeve thing. Not to obvious what happened at all!
