Working now!

Postby stevebo » Aug 3rd, '06, 01:11

Heya guys!

Just a quick message to say that I've started to work in my dad's restaurant not only as a bartender but as a magician as well! :D It's great fun! Today's my third day! hehe. My shaky nervousness is totally gone now :P. The best thing was the ten pound tip from ONE table yesterday! Got £12 yesterday in total.

Stuff I did included various ace tricks as one routine. This is to let the spectator cut to the four aces (you know which one  ), the I lose the 4 aces back into the deck and find the 4 aces by:
1) Aaron Fisher's Pop out move
2) Fancy top packet retention cut (Sybil cut)
3) Ego Change to make 3rd ace reversed in the middle of the deck
4) Hot shot cut
Then I take two of the aces - the Spade and Heart (Man and woman :P) - to find a selected card. Then I do Joker's wild with the ace of spades.

Other stuff I did included Sponge balls and Sponge rabbits. Other card routines included the ACR and the Biddle Trick. Also did The Man from NY. Other random stuff like the street levitation :).

There's more but I can't remember lol.

Well done - this can be the start of a glittering career so please remember TM when you're rich and famous and headlining in Las Vegas!

I'm very happy for you. Just keep on working. Great choice of rutines btw. some fork (or whatever) benders would be nice (unless you only do card magic).

Congrats on taking your first steps forward into the world of performance.

As daunting as it may have been, look back on it as an accomplishment and move forward from now on. Remember that you need to look at what reactions you get to the tricks that you perform. You need commercial material which may not necessarily be what you most like to perform.

Good luck and again, well done!

Congrats!

Just out of curiousity, does your dad pay you to be a waiter and a magician or just a waiter? Do you do tricks while people are waiting for their food? :D

I only get paid as a barman. I don't get paid as a magician. I do tricks for people after they have finished their food and relaxing with some coffee :D.

And of course I'll remember the good old (nothing against Mandrake lol) folks here at TM.

I'm happy to be an old man if it means free booze - don't forget the ice and lemon and you can make it a treble now please (otherwise I'll sit there telling everyone how you do your tricks!)!

Young man, one day you will learn... G&T is the nectar of the gods! (Along with Badger ales... mmm...)

But anyhoo, congratulations - I'm sure performing "professionally" like this will also improve your style no end, everyone wins :D
