I guess there's only 7 different letters in 'the alphabet'

t, h, e, a, l, p & b

So the total numbers of letters is 11, but the number of different letters is 7. I think that covers all eventualities...

...I hope

:)

I got a good one. Read carefully.

There was a detective that was staying at a hotel. In the middle of the night he is waked up from a room not far from him. The detective hears some people screaming from this room, so he takes his things, if there is gonna be any more trouble, and walks to the room. But just before he comes into the room, he hears a lady scream: "Dont kill me, John!" And "PANG", a gun shot.
The detective runs after he heard the gun shot. The door is not closed so the detective opens it. The detective sees a dead female on the floor and a gun besides here. Then the detective looks at those who are standing in the room. They are 3 persons. A lawyer, a auditor and a CEO for a bank. The detective looks at all this 3 persons and he walks forward against the auditorn and suddenly says: "You are under arrest for the murder of this woman."

The question is: How did the detective know that it was the auditorn that had murderd the woman?

Wow didnt know that there was a couple that knew this one.
Well Iam still giving some help:

None of this 3 persons haves a name-tag. So there was no names on the uniform.

The gun is randomly throwned on the floor, so that dont gives any clues either.

There was no talk/question when the detective walk into the room.

The detective have NEVER seen this 3 persons, or know anything about this. The 3 persons are whole new faces for the detective.

Hope that helps!

I'd guess that out of the 3 people, only one of them is male and since the female who was killed shouted, "don't kill me John" the detective knew that the killer was male...... I think

Try this:

There is a common English word that is nine letters long. Each time you remove a letter from it, it still remains an English word - from nine letters right down to a single letter. What is the original word, and what are the words that it becomes after removing one letter at a time?

I think the real question is how come the detective didn't arrest the other two for being an accesory

You wont find much better anywhere and it's nothing - a rigmarole with a few bits of paper and lots of spiel. That is Mentalism

That works but there's also another one that doesn't use "re" words (if you catch my drift  ).
