You are very much remembered...

It is thanks to you that I researched and bought some books on Eastern Fakirs and witchcraft. Indeed it is true, they DO do some insane things with their bodies in regard to piercing!

But I still believe that Blaine is more Hollywood than Fakir.

Although, many thanks Dale for enlightening me on the fascinating (but gruesome) ritual/performance arts of these bizarre cultures.

There was also a rather gory episode of Jonathan Creek (Christmas Special?) where JC exposed a fake psychic surgeon - it was the one where the female magician had a twin sister who accidentally got cut in two by a very large buzz saw. Full details will be on the JC websites. Nice, wholesome family entertainment!

Anyway, I thought those psychic surgery scams had been well & truly exposed by the Sunday newspapers yonks ago - if David Blaine is now using the same techniques then he's well out of date!

Didn't I tell you a prime condition of posting here was to do with your mental state? But did you believe me? No, you just said there's no such thing as Sanity Clause.

Good episode that.
The hands belong to our very own Ali Bongo. If you watch the Jim Carey movie, "MAN IN THE MOON", ( the life story of comic great Andy Kaufman, Latka in taxi)towards the end they show a much better expose` of this.

Wierd or what? The rumour mill from the Beeb says that the original Jonathan Creek character was based on Ali Bongo himself. As I mentioned some time back, the character has certainly gone through some changes to end up as Alan Davies! Thanks for the info - I have a head full of such trivia and it won't be too long before I pass that gem on!

That was one of my favorite programs and there are several websites devoted to it (as with all other programmes since J.Logie Baird started in business!).

I understand that Mark Wilson was the guy who taught Bill Bixby (and many other TV and Movie stars playing Magicians) everything he knew - and Bill did it all the hard way, no camera tricks the guy actually sweated it out and rehearsed the moves over and over just like we all do. Well, like we're supposed to!
