I will probably get these on Monday as I have a credit with a supplier who billed me twice for a dvd set.

Always liked rings when performed well, but for where I usually do my little turns, they would be most impractical.

I guess they will also be my ultimate test for keeping grabby drunks' hands to themselves.

PM me if you're having trouble with the one-handed blocked link.
It's one of the two difficult moves, but I found an easier way to achieve it.

Good luck.

I just wanted to say thank you for the quick reply. It helped a lot. I'm going to be getting these in a few days (the gold set) and I look forward to learning them.

Cheers!

I learned the entire routine from the DVD and it is great to watch people react to it. I only sometimes cannot achieve the starting "table spin" link. The one-handed block link is probably the most difficult, but doable. BTW: Anyone tried to create a routine with more than "basic" four rings?

I have been using and performing the Ninja ring for more than a year and I agree with the review in every point. It did require a LOT of practice, but it is deffinitely worth it. And although I use silver rings, they are still OK. If you do the link in the spectators hands, they don't have the need to check the rings - sometimes they are affraid to touch them again :). So let me just repeat: brilliant routine with a perfect DVD that teaches you everything you need. BTW: after the routine you can use one of the rings to perform a "rope and ring" routine, for which it is great too.

I found that with no history of ring work, the DVD is a must...I use them close up and love them roaming festivals, etc...because they pack into my jacket pocket, make lots of noise when performed and are very visual. Rarely do I get someone wanting to see them. That is when I move into Paul Harris Immaculate Connection and give them some story about how I practiced them with playing cards.

I do use them on my stand up/stage shows as well but thinking of getting a larger set of rings for larger audiences. Used them for groups of upto 200 people quite easily.

NinjaPlus

Postby BrianCaswell » Oct 13th, '08, 15:23

Fans of the Ninja Rings may be interested to check out Matthew Garrett's NinjaPlus. This can be used as an extension to Ninja Rings. But so many new effects are possible it will probably become a classic in its own right.

Matthew showed the effect to Shoot in Blackpool this year and received praise for it's originality. Like so much great magic it's really a very simple idea, but produces some awesome visual magic. I made the DVD for the effect and you can see a couple of my clips here.

This is a great routine, so beautiful sometimes, it is great for a few reasons.

I think one of the best things is that it includes linking a ring that is in the spectators hands, I have seen others do this, but it is nicely done here.

I find the video fine, i do not find it to fast as someone mentioned, I think its speed is fine, the moves take quite some time to get, some are easier than others.
