I have been a member of this board and a customer at Abrakazam, and then e-magictricks and all the stages in between and have never had a problem. One time I ordered something which came incomplete, I sent Lawrence an e-mail and the missing part of the order arrived the next morning with a personal apology. This lapse in service is very unusual, and I would suggest that as he hasn't posted anything on this board for months that there are some circumstances out of his control preventing him from providing his normal excellent service.

I just say this because I don't believe that your problems are not due to lack of care on the part of emagictricks. That said I can't think of any other way to get the video you ordered, or your money back than to continue to e-mail and hope for a response.

Nick - I have to agree with you that my experience of the service from e-magic tricks is more than excellent. I've been a customer since Christmas and have placed several orders with no problems. If you check out the magicbunny gripes it seems as though there may be a couple of genuinely disatisfied customers but without full details of the problems, their approach and the true facts, it's difficult to assess things properly.

As you will probably know from your sales activities, customers are not always right even though they think they are!

Oh yes, we get many people wanting their money back because what they bought was not what they wanted, unfortunately it is rarely possible to do this because they paid mainly for the secret not the kit to perform the trick.

The more recent postings are becoming a little more careful and considerate. Even Carl Fraser has a posting on the thread but it's mainly on side issues.

And finally......

Well, I doubt this will be final but I sincerely hope it goes a long way towards finalising this thread - Laurence has posted messages on magictricks.co.uk and magicbunny.co.uk Forums giving all the required responses (and probably more than he needed to in one respect!) and setting the matter as straight as possible. To his credit the gentlemanly manner of the replies are a good lesson in how to communicate without resorting to the kind of attitude displayed in the earlier postings on both those Forums (or is it Forii?)

As anticipated, the true facts are nothing like the rumour, supposition, and general bad mouthings contained in the threads so, hopefully, the matter should be settled - for a while!

Where has he posted on here?

I have written to the address given on Magic Bunny and will post my thoughts on how my long O/S query is dealt with.

I don't think he's posted on this Forum but I stand to be corrected on that. (As a married man of 32 years, I'm used to being corrected!)

As promised :-

Hi

Again, I do apologise for this - I didn't get around to it. Unfortunately,
the item does make a noise although it should not be loud enough to cause a
problem in a pub for example, but would be too noisy in a living room.
Please return the item and I will gladly credit your account for the full
amount.

Best regards
Laurence

Seems reasonable to me

Sorry guys - I got rather worked up over some of the postings on magictricks.co.uk and the fact that magicbunny have locked their thread to prevent further comments so I've posted a few blasts at them. It probably won't help and it doesn't make me feel too much better but there you go, I felt things had to be said so I said 'em.

Ho hum, tomorrow is another day and I'm young and beautiful. OK, just tomorrow is another day then?

Paul :?

Just noticed that magicbunny has posted an explanation which sounds reasonable albeit a bit late in the day IMHO and magictricks have not only locked their thread they've deleted a lot of the postings as well.

It would apear that they have both discovered they don't like beans after opening the can.

Anyway, all shall now be consigned to the vaults of time and history!
