Yet another Elmsley request!!!

Postby Jordan C » Nov 12th, '06, 13:17

Just a quick one guys.... I did a search for elmsley count and got over 700 results so was a bit put off searching.....

Basically, I like to learn visually.... can anyone point me to the appropriate thread where a dvd is suggested or can anyone suggest a good dvd for learning the EC amongst others......

I'm having a blonde day (unusual for a bald man lol) and I'm struggling to find something appropriate!!

Thanks!!

If you want to improve your Elmsley then I wholeheartedly recommend Queens out of Control.

You not only get what I think is a truly great routine but the accompanying video disk teaches the Elmsley in detail and I think that Gerry Griffin does a superb job with his teaching. It's a marvelous routine for practicing your new found skills too, although you have to avoid becomming frustrated until you can hit 9 or 10 perfect Elmsleys in a row.

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

QOOC was one of the reviews I read..... it may be the choice if I can't find a good value comprehensive guide to sleights DVD

I am not sure of a good sorce for learning the EC, but whatever you do, learn to do it by pushing off with your left thumb instead of counting off with your right fingers (reverse this if you are left handed). This way looks much more natural, and once you get it down, it is easier to do.

Jordan - perhaps check out Daryl's Encyclopedia of Card Sleights series. It's a phenomenal set. Volume Seven in the series teaches the EC, among others. Definitely worth the price.
