Hi
my name is jay and i thought it was about time i introduced myself.
I live in the south east of England and have been doing magic for nearly 2 years. I have been a regular visitor to the talk magic forums for a while now and find a lot of the posts very informitive.
For the first year or so i mainly concentrated on card magic but recently I have found myself taking a bit more interest in coin work.
The main reasons i havn't introduced myself earlier are:
1. not the fastest typer in the world.
2. my missus says i already spend to much time on the computer.
3. my missus says i already spend enough time studying magic (reading books etc).
4.Not enough hours in the day
So hi to you all and i hope to take a bit more of an active part in these forums.
bye for now
JaY

I'm sure you are in for a treat Jay, because he's pretty amazing.
I met him last weekend in the International Magic Convention in Shaw theatre and he's a nice chap. Not an arrogant know-it-all-kind-of-person at all, like you could imagine when a guy becomes that famous... but a friendly bloke. And his "Mindgames" are stunning!
Have a lot of fun and please tell us all about it after... :)

Welcome!

I once watched Derren Brown live while he performed in Oxford. Interesting show! He had one effect that help inspire me to an effect I used for my daughters halloween party last year. In the effect a glass moved around by the participants at it spells what ever you have decided. "are you scared now" i my case!

Of couse since I watched Derren do it, I would never dream of using the material without permission in a professional context.

I am however pretty sure the method essentially is explained in 13 steps to mentalism! It is curious that I meet magicians who thought that he was using a special table for this! Well, this is not what he did in Oxford, and not the method I used. Not to be accussed of over claiming, let me point out that I (like Derren Brown) had the cards on the table face down during the spelling procedure.

Magic is slight of mind!
