Performance for Kids

Postby XTTX » Dec 8th, '06, 09:54

Well, this Saturday, I'm going to be working for my school's Santa's Breakfast, which is basically a food and drink but with the whole mall Santa aspect. I'm positioned as a table waiter and was thinking about table hopping and doing some tricks. Any suggestions on tricks kids would be into?

Assuming this is little kids ... anything to do with vanishing or appearing sweets. I suggest a some cups and balls (sweets) and some coin (sweet) work. Nice and short, nice and simple.

I find Jay Sankeys nailed always does it for kids( about 8 upwards) and woman more than men. Or anything like coins and sponge balls disappearing and re-appearing somewhere else kids love it.

You can do tricks using a glove puppet, that always goes down well with the little ones.

Well, these kids are going to be anywhere from 4-12, so I don't know exactly what to do. I'm mostly into card tricks, so I'm not so sure about the coin and sponge ball routines.

sponge balls are great for kids, coins and cards not so much for the little ones.

Anything big bright and visible is good

Not a tirck but kids love rocky Raccoon

Also vanishing bandana creates a good laugh.

Just stick to very visual material and when I have tried card tricks they have always gone down badly with kids under 8.

rubber bands, linkin parclips, d'lites.. all good for kids I think.. and learn a sponge ball routine.. kids go nuts when u start pullin balls out of their ears and things like that

for the 4 year olds I would recommend incredible shrinking finger, dis-jointed or saw ( string through neck ) or needle through arm..

Personally I'd avoid anything like saw or needle through arms, you don't want the little darlings going home and trying it out.
