It's a book I love a browse through now and then. It's well set out and explained and although it doesn't focus on very complicated sleights and stuff that some people crave, the effects in it are very good and direct and could fit into most card magicians programme.
Although many may not be interested in sponge balls, etc, it's good to have the info at hand if by chance you suddenly had an interest in it and wanted to read up on it.
For me, the Tarbell course are the ultimate books. They have lots of effects I use and other things such as escapology which, although I don't do them, I throughly enjoy reading about.

Complete course in magic

Postby railman » Apr 29th, '07, 14:51

This book was recommended to me on this site, and to date it has been one of the best purchases I have made, there are so many different forms of magic covered here. Even if you don't have any interest in illusions or sponge magic it is almost gauranteed to have something of value for every one. If I had to nominate just one book to anyone looking to further an interest in magic it would be this one.
