I know I can make them up around other tricks, but I could really do with a source of shaggy dog card tricks. Any ideas?

There are numerous resources for Storytelling and before you get too much into finding stories, you might want to look into some workshops in your area that teach you how to be an effective storyteller. Believe me, a solid orator can create more magic with words than any magician can with his props...

When it comes to the magic side of tales check out Leslie Melville's MAGICTALES @ Leaping Lizards. You will also find the tall tales of the late Gene Poinc most awesome (I think The Learned Pig still has links to Gene's site or go through DragonSkull). Then there is one of my favorite people on earth, Ed Solomon who you'll find through Mary Tolmich's (sp) Magic site or the ICBM or Shadow Network.

I do believe Eugene Burger has some story magic bits as well but it's been a very long time since I've looked at his materials... Eugene if visiting Edd Winter's MAGIC WOOD forum in February should you be interested in touching base with him

Hope this helps you out.
