For all you Apple Mac heads with a Mighty Mouse...

Postby seige » Jan 11th, '07, 12:15

After hours of frustration when my mighty mouse scroll ball stopped working, I decided to fix the little beggar... and documented it!

http://www.linklink.co.uk/apple-compute ... hty-mouse/

Works like a charm, and contrary to the 'alcohol' and 'can't take it apart' ramblings, it went easy peasy, and after seeing what actually clogs inside, it's no wonder that applying just alcohol to the ball doesn't work!

Hope it's of some use!

Nor do I, but thanks anyway.
Ahh, it reminds me of your ever-so-usefull card splitting tutorial, which helped me immensley.

As a piece of Apple Mac trivia; who was supposedly the first person to buy one? (it is a famous person[dead now])

for regular users of Apple computers, imagine the excitement generated by finally being able to scroll up & down, left & right with one's finger tip.

i suspect it gave me expectations that everything in life should be so easy.

imagine my frustration when the darn thing failed TWICE! the first time, the Apple store simply swapped it. this time i just haven't had the time to mess around taking it back.

i will try and make some time on the weekend to perform your suggested operation Seige... i recently fixed the "disc read error" problem on my son's PS2 so i am feeling confident we can bring my MM back to life!

thanks.
