It's Friday, I have the weekend all to myself and I'm feeling both pink and Fluffy.

Although the following may be in a break with my general cynical nature and may even be seen as slightly vomit inducing (particularly by me) I am still going to post it anyway:

From time to time I feel compelled to throw a big thank you to all the regulars on TM. Sometimes whilst reading some of the new posts that appear on a daily basis I get somewhat jaded due to the amount of petty arguments and pointless threads generally started by new members.
I know that this is mainly due to youth and exuberance rather than any kind of malice or general stupidity.
But on TM there is the very antithesis of these aforementioned threads to be found.
Every now and then I open a thread to be bombarded with ideas, tips, theory and even magic philosophy that engages my love of magic and it is these threads that drag me back here time and time again.
The ones that I talk of here will know who they are and are defined by their willingness to impart this sometimes valuable inofrmation freely and without anything asked in return other than that it is read and used by all who have the intelligence to know what gifts are thrown onto their screen.
Finally the mods themselves who use up a good portion of their time not only having to deal with the less positive side of TM but all of them contribute so much to the content too.
So in conclusion I think that everytime I feel tired of reading the more shallow and argumentitive thread I should remember why I have stayed here for so long and the positive effect the TM has had on not only the technical side of my magic but also the perfoming element and for me most importantly, some of the giggles I've had reading others contributions.

So thank you!

Now I'm off to kill some small mammels in order I dont beome some tree hugging hippy.

ha ha you can't be too nice all the time no greedoniz can ya, you need to keep you life in equilibrium.

But yes very good post none the less, I would like to share your pink and fluffy happiness. As it is a friday and the weekend will soon be upon us again. I will be phoning my mates with the usual excuse that we have to make the most of the sun while its here then head to a beer garden.

Can anybody please help me? I'm having terrible problems controlling my streetmagic- I can't walk down a street without turning into a pub.

Pink and Fluffy? Yes.

I just got an original Ken Brooke Five Star Miracle Wallet (a himber) for £30 on eBay. The re-issues of these babies cost about £80.

Oh my.

Pink and Fluffy Smiles of Joy

Hello Lady of Mystery,

Oh how I so love your idea here, and, I fully totally and in all ways send out bodacious hugs to everyone reading your post.

Just thinking of your idea Lady of Mystery makes me all pink and fluffy, of course, then again, I'm always pink and fluffy as some of you may have noticed.

My garage band is even called The Cuddle Bunnies (yes, pink outfits, ears, and yes, a cute bunny tail). I have the cutest set of '65 Slingers of all time (a drum kit - Slingerland). They are lavender and my throne is leopard print. Yes, I'm the drummer. Who'd have guessed that, huh.

I hadn't thought of mixing my rock band with my magic until just this very moment. That would be so fun to mix in some illusions with my drumming. Wow, I mean, I'm so glad I found your post and it so made me giggle and now I have a whole new gig to work on thanks to you Lady of Mystery.

Pink and Fluffy rocks!!!

Love,

Amanda Angeli

Bottoms and Seconds

Postby Amanda Angeli » Jun 26th, '07, 18:27

Hello HenryHoudini and LeftEye,

The secret to Bottoms and Seconds is not so much just how you do it but even more importantly, when you do it. This is to say, if you are doing it in a playing situation instead of at a card table.

As a magician, of course, it is easy to slightly turn your body or move the hands but at the table, you are watched, oh yes, you are watched.

One way to disarm someone is through conversation. Girls have an advantage in this because we can add so much more than just talking. Another good time, of course is moments of inattentiveness. But I'm sure you both know all of this.

Do either of you deal Middles? Or, how about Second Bottoms? I came up with the idea of Second Bottoms when one day I figured why not try it since it is a great way to mask the bottom card just in case. After all, you don't want a tell like a Queen on the bottom or some such disaster like that.

Oh, and another thing, if you're into Double Duking, on the green you do it more or less the opposite of doing it as a trick. As a trick, three Aces are nice. But if you Double Duke, you'll want not the best hand but the best winning hand. THAT is the key and oh so important. It is often overlooked at the table. So I often go for three 2's or three 3's. That's good enough in my game of Five Card Draw.

I wish you boys the best always and good luck on your Seconds and Bottoms.

Love,

Amanda Angeli

I was playing a game the other day where you need to get four of a kind, and I put the four aces on the bottom and bottom dealt myself the four aces, noone noticed till I told them. Im too nice.

Red Nail Polish and Red Bees

Postby Amanda Angeli » Jun 26th, '07, 18:44

Hello HenryHoudini,

Were you in a game or doing magic? And, yes, you sound really nice. I assume you were doing magic since as a cardsharp you wouldn't want the others to know about your skills. That's a mistake magicians often make in that there is a tendency to want to show off. While that is fun and all, you just can't do that on the green if you're a road hustler.

What kind of deck do you like? I love red Bees. Bees are great for Seconds because there is no white border and I use red because it compliments my fire engine red nail polish, after all accessorizing is important for a girl. Interestingly enough, the nail polish is also a way to ever so slightly get an additional edge in helping my fingers blend with the backs of the cards for when I do tiny finger movements for whatever I am trying to do. A small edge, granted, but an edge none-the-less and I wouldn't get that with blue Bees. Unless of course my nail polish was blue but that is so last year (that's a joke).

Love,

Amanda Angeli
