Hello HenryHoudini and LeftEye,
The secret to Bottoms and Seconds is not so much just how you do it but even more importantly, when you do it. This is to say, if you are doing it in a playing situation instead of at a card table.
As a magician, of course, it is easy to slightly turn your body or move the hands but at the table, you are watched, oh yes, you are watched.
One way to disarm someone is through conversation. Girls have an advantage in this because we can add so much more than just talking. Another good time, of course is moments of inattentiveness. But I'm sure you both know all of this.
Do either of you deal Middles? Or, how about Second Bottoms? I came up with the idea of Second Bottoms when one day I figured why not try it since it is a great way to mask the bottom card just in case. After all, you don't want a tell like a Queen on the bottom or some such disaster like that.
Oh, and another thing, if you're into Double Duking, on the green you do it more or less the opposite of doing it as a trick. As a trick, three Aces are nice. But if you Double Duke, you'll want not the best hand but the best winning hand. THAT is the key and oh so important. It is often overlooked at the table. So I often go for three 2's or three 3's. That's good enough in my game of Five Card Draw.
I wish you boys the best always and good luck on your Seconds and Bottoms.
Love,
Amanda Angeli
