Postby Zarrow » Jan 14th, '07, 23:15

I have mastered many slights of varous difficulty, but I struggle with an in the hands riffle shuffle!

I feel like a fool as this is something I should be able to do! I have no problem riffle shuffleing when I have a surface to do the waterfall finish, but when I do it in the hands cards go everywere! any advice? is the techneque or grip any different?

I struggled with this as well when I started doing it. It is a grip thing as you have guessed.

I use my middle, ring and pinky to grip around the edges of the card that's away from the riffled end. The thumb does the riffling and the index is free to keep the long end square and also to provide a bend.

It's like a modified biddle grip.

Hope that helps.

You mean an ordinary genuine riffle shuffle?

A card magician is a magican who needs to think if he has to shuffle the cards genuinely! Your question is a though question....

Magic is slight of mind!

Thanks!

Yep thats helps alot, Just given it a go and your tips have helped.

had the right grip but my index finger(as you pointied out) neededs to guide the long edge to hold everything square! Seem to struggle at the end of the riffle, cards pop off the top.

Many thanks, with abit more practice think I've got it! at last!!
