to be honest I'm not sure if i like these cards. can't place my finger on it, but i still love the black tigers the best.

mine came yesterday from nums...they're really quite lovely...shame about the elusionist blurb at the bottom though...still, a quick few seconds with a scapel and some dry brushing and it's all sorted...

i'd of liked it if they did them in the vintage series backs if i were being picky...but overall, very nice indeed...a time-travelling presentation already springs to mind...

I've been chatting with Liam (Montier) about some ideas for these... one we came up with was using the Sam Webster Nemesis effect, where the deck changes from a regular red deck to an aged deck.

The only drawback is the dirty edges, although Liam recons a nail file may help!

Other ideas spring to mind too... it's got some scope I'm sure.

As for the Ellusionist branding and the regular backs, yeah, I agree...

I got mine from NUMS yesterday and I have to say that I'm impressed with these as they will generate some interesting scenario's.

Living in Dorset it took minutes to start the ' I found them washed up on the beach' type patter which instantly drew an interest which the cards then lent themselves to amazingly well with an AC routine themed around them being washed up etc....... It was improvisation which worked very well.

The only criticism that I have with these cards is that E could have also printed the inside of the box as it's just gleaming white.

I've aged mine on the top of the inside and was wondering if anyone else has done the same?

I'm cutting the middle man out, I have just put thirty packs of bike pokers in my compost heap, By June I should have my own home made 1800's.

Can't wait, They may not fan to good though.

not tried it yet, but i reckon some caran dache (spelling) colour pencils will help with the edges in the same way a sharpie helps with a tiger deck...

Well, the edge cleaning method of choice for me is currently a white chalk marker pen.

Trial and error, after wasting 2 decks.

But they ALMOST look as clean as regular bikes.

However, I suggest using a USED deck of regulars... that way, the colour difference in edges meets in the middle...

just by luck, i found i can identify all 4 tens by a certain darkening of the backs...

i dont want the edges to be as clean as normal bikes though (though i can see why you would for certain congruant effects) - i want them all that beige/oatmeal/greeny yellow tinge if i can manage it...
