Yes close up works for me too, as long as you're not surrounded.

I've made lots of mistakes ordering stuff in the past but you can't go wrong with this one.

I have used blindsight a few times at larger venues and it has been superb each time.

I leave out the final revelation as I do it as an experiment rather than a prediction routine, leaving the final praise to the participant rather than to me.

This fits my working on the routine as an experiment rather than a demonstration.

I agree completely that this is a great effect. I personally love the final revalation and found the results be as suggested in the manual. I think it really adds to the effect, and the re-telling of the effect. The audience member "guessing" four cards could be anticlimatic for some, but add the final in there and it removes the emphasis on that and adds a whole new level of mystery, to the whole.

I only have one qualm with this, and I can't go into it here, suffice to say that my wife was able to help out, after i had failed a few times to go against my natural instincts (pm if your interested, but make sure you can tell me what Devin doesn't like the audience to be).

I remember seeing Derren B doing somthing similar, but can't quite remember what it was. Can anyone enlighten me? Pretty sure it was this effect, but with bells and whistles.

I bought this efect about a month ago and tried it out for the first time on a work colleague last week. (Bought Zenner Tech last week too which I was also impressed by)

Got an excellent reaction with Blindsight which increased when she set aside the green envelope on first choosing.) However, she tried to convince herself that she could see the colour of the cards through the envelope!!! Hmmm

Ya, Derren Brown did something very similiar in his 'Something Wicked This Way Comes' show :) , I can't remember the whole, but it is something like he had different color cards behind a cover , and he had random i think 4 audience to come on stage and chose a card and put it in an envelope, and then bells and whistles etc etc.. :P, and he make all correct predictions :) Applause :) something like that as i remember.

I entirely agree with all the praise for this wonderful piece of mentalism. Its use of several techniques, and subtle misdirectional strategies are a real joy and I've had enormous fun performing this.

Re: Being able to see through the envelope - I had a few comments like that, I've simply changed the envelopes for purple ones (of course) and I use a silver marker. It not only looks beautiful, but adds to the effect, if you know what I mean!

Best,

Lee

Good idea about changing the colour of the envelopes and pen colour. (I actually tested my colleague again asking her to choose without using "Blindsight" and she only had one correct!!!)

I'm also thinking of making this effect smaller so it fits easier into my wallet - smaller envelopes, cutting down the coloured cards - but not sure if this will take something away from the effect.

I just got this a few weeks ago, and worked with it until I had my own presentation down. So far, I have performed it once for a co-worker and it went over quite well. She also chose to set the envelope to the side that was marked 'Green'. I added my own subtlety to this for the final revelation: I wasn't blatant about pointing anything out, instead I just looked at the envelope and back at her and smiled, and then looked back at the envelope and her a second time. (Eyes only, no head movement.)
This worked out, and she instinctively looked in the envelope to find the revelation. The only draw back I see to this effect is the angles. ( You can't do it surrounded.) But, Devin provides the little nuggets that make something seemingly small pack a big punch.

Hey Guys, for those of you who have the newer version of Devin Knight's blind sight 'blind sight outdone', can it be performed with almost anything in the envelopes?? its just that id like to purchase this for obvious purposes and also to maybe create a cross-over effect to do with the colours in the envelopes corresponding to other items of that colour in my act.

for example, when they spec decides what colour is in each envelope, the item that actually is in the envelopes is linked to something else prop-wise in my act, like they say that -this is the yellow one' and they have effectively predicted that im wearing yellow socks as the object in the envelope is actually a picture of socks, etc...)

so can it be anything in the envelopes within reason???

id like to buy this anyway, but id love to get your feedback first and I think i will be going for the download version, so that I can have it right away and I enjoy making my own props.

thanks for your help.

Hey all, I had a message from Devin Knight and it turns out that the effect CAN be done with pretty much anything in the envelopes, which is brilliant and I now know I definitely will get miles of use out of this effect. If anyone is interested, ill let you all know how I get along.
