Does anyone have experience with Zen cart?

Postby pcwells » Feb 20th, '07, 18:56

Hi all,

I'm trying to revamp my music video label's website - www.punkervision.net - while making it as low-maintenance as possible.

I want to use Zen Cart, and while the software seens to have installed without complaint, the homepage just gives me a database error message and the admin control panel is non-existant.

I've been passed back and forth like a tennis ball between my host's tech support and Zen cart's user forums, and have completely run out of ideas as nobody is able to help me identify the fault.

I notice that a few online magic stores use Zen cart, and was hoping that some kind soul out there might help me.

Either that, or can someone point me in the direction of a service that I can hire and pay to get the cart running?

All help appreciated,

Pete

Pete,

PM me if you need help, I'm a website developer by trade.

I dont use Zen but can offer several alternatives depending on what you are trying to achieve.

PM sent.

If I had hair, it would have all been torn out by now. :(

Some web hosts, such as Pipex/Webfusion, offer 'all in one' packs, which includes hosting, domain name, cart software and payment gatherers.

I'd strongly suggest you go that route, especially if you have no formal training in coding.

Web designers, myself included, will rip you off as far as possible for such work :D

Unfortunately I'm also trying to avoid the hassle of moving the domain name and messageboard to a new host. If ZenCart would just work as I want it to I'd be a happy bunny. Well, maybe not a bunny but happy and hoppity anyway.
