I've just recieved an e-mail from a Mr Marc Oberon (potentially the greatest second name ever!) just thanking me for teaching him some contact juggling. What a nice guy!

Sounds like everyone had some fun. What a tiring weekend it was, but im not complaining. It was great meeting Bananafish and his friend (what his name mate on the forums? You know the one) :)

It was good meeting Lawrence as well, look out for some cool items from him in the near future.

I have to admit that my highlight of the weekend was going to bed at 8:15 on Sunday Morning and waking up at 9:15 for a business meeting at 9:45 LOl Dont ask me how i came out of it alive, i have no idea.

I have to apologize for anyone that said Hi and I didn’t know who you were.

I do think I need to promote my new lecture for next years Blackpool convention. It will be titled something like, "How to not be a Geek at a convention".

Hopefully if I behave myself for a whole year I'll be allowed to go along.

Then again the chances of me behaving for a whole year are slim to none.

I attended both Saturday and Sunday but with around 3500 magicians I only managed to meet (very briefly) two people from TM!! There were around 40 danish magicians but I only managed to meet a few of my friends! Quite amasingly, but I think partly do to the fact that most of my magic colleguages had VIP status. When I registred the 500 VIP tickets had been sold out so I had to spend most time with armatures who like me are inexperienced in how and when to registre for the Blackpool magic convention!

Magic is slight of mind!

The VIP idea was a new concept introduced only this year and involved paying an extra £20.00 but included additional lectures and demos just for VIPs. As the timetable is normally crammed and it's not possible to see and do everything, I really couldn’t justify that extra expense and I'm sure it would have meant missing more of the stuff I actually saw. OK, preferential seating allocation at the shows is probably an attractive feature but I'm still not convinced about the extra cost and the extra activities. There again, I'm a well-know tightwad!

Second best way of getting in is to register now, today, not tomorrow! There were forms at the Convention to fill in and I'm sure they're also available from the organisers. They're all held until July 1st when payments are taken from credit cards and tickets allocated so the expenditure isn’t immediate and I think the tickets are posted out during August. After that you just need to save up to buy all that lovely stuff from the Dealers!

I know Mandrake had a few pints, but to correct the situation, I had met Dynamo at the InternationalMagic booth and we chatted a bit about TalkMagic.

Then I saw him passing while chatting with Mandrake at the Ruskin, as he said hello to me, I introduced Mandrake to him and said: "Hi Dynamo. This is Mandrake, one of the moderators of TalkMagic." and Dynamoe shook hands with Mandrake and talked a bit to him in a polite curteous manner. :)

Ladies and Gentlemen of the jury, it's all lies, I tell you - I was on mineral water the whole evening (believe that and you'll believe anything!) No, gunnarkr is quite right that he effected the introduction and Dynamo is a great lad. As for the Portsmouth lot not bringing enough cards, shame on you - you probably get 'em wholesale! I felt very sorry for the bar staff trying clean up, the carpet was almost ankle deep in various types of cards, far more on the floor than during Juliana Chen's act!

i am afraid i have to confess of being involved in the card fight, it was a reet laugh.....i think it was started by the portsmouth lot, and they needed some northern discipline to sort them out.

Just out of interest , were the TM lot sat quite close to the toilets downstairs in the ruskin?...if so i think i was next to you. ha ha, its a small world.

We were at the middle table downstairs on Sunday night. Turned our back to the door of the toilet and some sat at the other side of the tables facing the door. :)
