Hmm it's difficult without giving too much away. You could for example use a certain type card instead of paper. I think that would acheve the result your looking for.

Thanks Happy Toad...am glad your post to me was your 666 post!

I can appreciate that somethings will work, some maybe not; but am looking forward to the process of discovery...brightened by your efforts and those of Mandrake (and of ALL former posts on this topic, which have been a real inspiration to go out and spend cash money on the item!)

Thanks again,

Cartomancer.

I'm getting confused here. Unless you do some preparation work, Xpert certainly doesn't work on plain paper for obvious reasons. If you use the white A4 stuff which you buy by the ream from Staples or wherever for the copier/computer printer then you can't do what Xpert is supposed to do. (Isn't it difficult saying things without saying things?!)

I think what Happy Toad was saying is that sometimes by not working it is proving that it is working, although to be honest it's very difficult to have this discussion without giving anything away.

If you do buy this, remember we have a Trick Owners Club area where new workshop knew ideas for it...

I have access to lots of different paper/card stock ( I am getting some guillotined, to a handy carrying size as we speak!)

I'll come back and report (if that is OK?) what GSM (weight) an dparticular stocks work well.

I'm thinking that a near-playing card stock (say 300 GSM Gloss Art Coated) would be the first one to try...clueless though I am currently, this is near to playing card stock and seems to be a good place to start.

I'm happy to report back and state what works, and give the exact specs so others can emulate my findings.

Thanks again peeps,

Cartomancer.

Ah, I see what you mean - or I mean what you see! As you say, it's not easy saying something without saying something. Or something.

I reckon that paper would work fine. I had to say that just to get away from all the sixes :)

Congrat's on leaving clickety click click behind - it's a very worrying sort of figure!

I'm gathering more aardvarks today at a rapid rate of knots (am going to have more than Pauline from the 'League of Gentlemen' at this rate!)

Purchased today, in my quest for making life simpler (!):

Xpert (this I look forward to the most)
Super Sharpie
PenPal (by Clark Orr)

All slightly different ( I think/hope) and all targeted for different areas of my work, though I hope that all are well used in all aspects, and am rather hoping that Xpert becomes the kingpin, as I like Necromancer (being a half-cousin to I, Cartomancer) a great deal!

Will advise on my impending results!

Cartomancer

(PS Just in case there was unintentionally a wee bit too much detail as to what one of the items actually is, the Mods have edited your message a little - sorry if it screws up the humour!)

Could the guys who own it say if it's better than the super sharpie?
And what are the diffrences? (without exposing something, of course).

Thanks in advanced,

MH.

It's not really possible to explain the differences, without exposing what the Xpert is. It is, in no way, the same as a Super Sharpie. Apart from both being pens, they do entirely different things. Therefore, the question of which is better is irrelevant. It'd be like saying whether a saw or a drill is 'better'.

x-pert

Postby BILL BERMAN » Apr 5th, '07, 21:01

As simply as it can be stated. The X-PERT is a tool that no mentalist should be without. Tools which can be utilized according to the desire of the performer are more valuable than any effect that you can buy. There are no limits to the number of effects that can be done with the X-PERT.
Isn't that more valuable than buying a one-trick-pony?

I should really stop reading this forum since whenever I do I end up spending a ton of money. Let's just hope the Xpert is as good as everyone says it is.

This is a BRILLIANT tool designed by a total genius and a genuinely nice guy! Pick this up if you haven't got it already. It's brilliant for mentalism routines OR magic... The coin stuff you can do with this is unreal.

Take it easy,

P.H.
