Links Problem

Postby warmerclimate » Mar 11th, '07, 16:54

For some reason, when links are clicked there is a 'talkmagic.co.uk/postid' prefex added to the url - so no links work directly as they should.

Just thought I'd point it out!

There's a good reason...

The links are masked so that this site can't be used directly as a search-engine helper, by people adding their own URLs to the site.

i.e. if you were trying to get backlinks to your own site, putting a link on here won't help you at all.

Ah... Okay.

That's fair enough, even though quite annoying.

Is it possible for someone to put something in one of the top forums explaining this? I've seen quite a lot of people complaining that links don't work - obviously not aware that the prefex is added.

Thanks for explaining,

- WC.

Actually, I think there's a glitch currently, as usually the links DO follow through, as they are redirected. Will look into it.

Me too... as Seige said they usually work fine but it has been a bit of a nuisance this past day or so!

Glad to see that I'm nbot the only one having problem with links.
I had noticed the masking but up until a couple of days it was working ok , now you get redirected to a blank page (however you can always copuy paste the link instead of clicking it).
