copper silver coins

Postby yddraig » Mar 30th, '07, 18:31

Hi, I'm after a copper - silver coin set and am in two minds. The common one seems to be the old penny - half dollar type but i dont think this type will work well in the UK, but it is the cheepest. My second type is a 2 Euro - 50c variety, but again, these coins may not be common enough in the UK. The final version is the Eddie Gibson 2p - 2 Euro coin, but cannot find it anywhere appart from the Eddie Gibson site.

Any feedback and advice will be fantastic, thanks in advance.

These do seem to be surprisingly rare, strange. Although I have seen a British version of hopping halves with a ten and two pence which should contain a copper silver, but it was a bit expensive if you just wanted the coin. Might not be a bad option though as it is a very nice effect.

the issue of using foreign coins comes up quite a bit. I personally try to avoid it but a lot of people use them quite sucessfully.

I wouldn't use this as a one off trick or start a routine with it. But if you do a routine with american coins, do some ungimmicked tricks to start with so that the spec can get used to the strange coins and examine them if they want to. Do swap and change between british and american coins in a routine though.
