i've made my own ghostvision doohickey that ties in well with it all...

and to echo dr.todd...invisible touches is genius in its own right, but also as an addition to this...

I don't own Invisible Touch, but it is my understanding that Invisible touch is not impromptu, and the performing conditions are more limited than those of PT. Is this correct?

I had the pleasure of performing PK Touches this past Samhain. The opening was a haunted key story, beginning of The Ritual of Reincarnation, Pk touches, end of Ritual of Reincarnation. It was spooky. I truly love the effect but I would use it sparingly and put alot of thought into its potential. It is simply bold and brilliant.

Psychokinetic Touches

:) I have found it works with all people but it depends on your acting and story telling ability. The acting needs to be 'natural'. Any obvious attempt at showmanship could kill it. It needs convinction & the ability to create belief in your audience.

I first performed it in a local theatre and it really slayed them. Then I demmed it in one of my lectures to our magic club. They couldn't find an explanation except 'it's a stooge'. Nothing could have been further from the truth. Purchasers( and I mean magicians) may dismiss it when they read the 'secret' but in a good performer's hands it is a bit of dynamite.

I changed the story the story to fit various happenings in my life basing it on my Auntie Gertie who bought me one of my very first magic books back in 1943(I still have it). She also had a favourite party trick wherein you pointed at one of 3 objects and she'd tell you which one. She'd often tap me on the right shoulder & when I turned round she'd be on my left! Then an incident where I stood by my great grandmother's open coffin
(she was my first audience when I was 9) and I felt a tap on the shoulder. Finally, I told the audioence that I had felt a shoulder tap whilst waiting for a bus to return to college, dropped my ticket and by the time I'd retrieved it, the bus had whizzed by and I had another half an hour to wait. The bus had a collision just before getting into Birmingham. A ghostly warning tap from Auntie Gertie & from great grandma? Not really but it all fitted. She did used to tap my shoulder & I did feel a shiver standing by the coffin & a bus did crash on my route but not the one I missed.

It's a case of using what has happened to you and adapting it accordingly; a memory technique actors sometimes use to create an inner emotion. 'Emotional memory'.

I sat, quite still, on a low stool telling the story and the 'victim' also sat there during the effect. During the aura part I had a quiet piece of music from Edward Scissorshands playing in the background.

Those of you who have bought it: When you wave your hands over the sitter, cleansing the area's aura, try crossing the hands over each other.
Things are more naiural and easier.
The feat is not original to Banachek( but thank him for bringing it to our attention). It has been used by at least one stage hypnotist years ago.

A brilliant variation purchasers of the original effect must look at, is in Luke Jermay's 'The Coral Fang'. He also published it in Stan Allen's Magic magazine under the title 'Touching on Hoy.' March 2007. Pages 90/91
Luke Jermay has also put out a dvd on the effect.

Both 'Touches & Touching' need no preparation and can be worked pretty well anywhere there is a space. Not at a close up session.

The average magician --don't bother. It is NOT for you!

thought I would resorect this as it is indeed a good effect.

I have had this for a good couple of years now, and have been honing my performance of it.

Just the other day I performed it once again with a newly-formed couple - and they were completely baffled - as were the other spectators!

I don't use the story about the dead uncle but give my own patter - although it is the same each time. I've found that it suits me much more - and then give a big pseudo-explanation at the end!

And for those who say you cant perform it more than once? poppy-cock! I performaed this a good 6-8 times on the same spectators, and they were as baffled the first as they are the last - even more so when i let them switch as to who "gets touched" and who doesn't.

I think the fact that I don't "cleanse their aura" does make a difference as well - it gives no way out as to when they can be touched!

If you want to perform more than once though, good audience management is needed. You have to read how they will react very well. I had one person at Reading Festival open their eyes immediately after having been touched. However, they were but 2 steps away from their friend. Upon opening his eyes (knowing what to expect having seen me perform before) he saw me just finishing tapping his friend on the shoulder.

Due to the fact that he saw me tap his friend as he opened his eyes being tapped himself, there was no problem with time lapse...in his mind, it coincided!

Overall, an underperformed effect, yet amazingly great!

Love

Chris

Lomster you should talk to dini about this stuff I know for a fact he has been researching it for something he has planned.

I am master of misdirection, look over there.

We are not falling out young Welshy, we are debating, I think farlsy is an idiot he thinks I am one. We are just talking about who is the bigger idiot.

PK Is awesome! I have even got around performing it to the same people by changing from "tapping" to using loops and hair as discussed on the loops dvd. This is an amazing follow-on as people can watch as closely as they like, and still see nothing....
