DERREN AND TOM

Firstly, very nice to see out very own Tom Lauten on Derren's Tricks of the mind this evening and what stunning detailed work he created on the face mask. it takes a real craftsman to make a face mask that fools the owner of that face and I think that Derren said that it was a first on British TV.

The effect itself was very surreal and I can't even begin to think about what must have been going on inside of the poor girls head. Thinking or in her case, believing that you're looking at your own corpse must me chilling to the core.

I really do hope that it makes her drive more safely as the footage showed her breaking various laws from driving whilst on the phone, without a seat belt, drinking, no hands on the wheel and more to boot.

Clever, thought provoking, sort of humerous at the same time in a certain way. One of Derren's best? I think so.

I wonder how many complaints will be in C4's inbox on Monday morning?

Excellent piece of work on both Toms and Derrens part there. I think they saved the best episode for last.
Saying that though overall I was very disappointed with the series as a whole. Lay people I have talked to who have watched it have been left cold by the whole thing.
That face cast was freaky as hell though.

I've watched every episode without tv.
Psst, torrents, piratebay...
I think its legal to dl tv-shows anyway. Atleast at my country.

And i've watched every episode on screen with the videoprojector. That is fun.

For all you poor guys, who missed this, you can actually LEGALLY view the show again on line from here:

http://www.channel4.com/4od/home.html

All Chnnel 4 shows from the past week are free, and I think - if you need to catch up with any of the previous weeks, it'll cost 99p per-pop.

Unfortunately, the service is UK-only

As for the poor girl, from last night's show....I'd be really surprised (unless she's a stooge, of course  ) if she's not going to be hearing from her local Constabulary very soon, regarding her illegal and dangerous driving practises

I have really enjoyed this series of Trick or Treat, and I thought Fridays episode was amazing. I really hope many more people will drive safer because of it!

Any ideas if the lovely Derren has another series coming soon??? (I didn't realise Friday was the last one *sob*)

TRUST me...she was NO stooge!

Thanks for the kind words folks.

To the best of our knowledge that was the first time a life cast was ever made of someone without them knowing it was being done. Now THAT was a REALLY weird thing to do.

yeah...well done there mr. lauten sir...fantastic work that was...

infact, i found this series far more emotive than others, its quite unusual for anything magic related to be so overtly moral in a positive way...

giving back someone's love of something, teaching them a lesson and so on...brilliant...

But it was really effective. It was a treat to admire your work.

The instant I heard them say that a life cast had to be made, I was expecting Tom to appear. I wasn't disappointed.

Mr Lauten's skills are not unknown to the TV camera. Some months ago, I saw him creating a monster effect on 'Art Attack'. It was a strange coincidence as I hardly have the TV on, let alone for kids' TV, but up he popped (and did a very good job too).

Great episode, just finished watching it. Fantastic stuff.

Couple of quick questions:

1. Was it hard and a little tense, trying to keep quiet while you were applying the mask?

2. Were you offended by Derren's description of you as a "big hairy american bloke?" :P

Thanks for the contribution, and I hope that you continue to do some great work! It's awesome to see TM users on the screen!

The best of the series and yes, I was impressed by the uncannily realistic mask too!
One thing missing from this series, which I think would make it more satisfying, would be comments from the participants afterwards. It all seems to end rather ubruptly.
