Theres a reason why so many great minds have tried different methods of roughing cards. Its not a waste of time to try out different things plus if you were going to experiment you only need to use one deck as you can try roughing a couple cards and see how it works and experiment using different products on a couple more cards, so you dont have to try out one product using the whole deck just to see if its good, thats a waste, just use a couple cards so you still have more to experiment on.

I dont know why they banned testers Dullcote but if they banned it because its a spray then there is also Testers Dullcote in a bottle and you just brush it on and its a lil less than 3 dollars US, the spray is 7 bucks US, I bought both to see if one worked best or the same and it works just the same. If they banned that too then I dont know what else would work the same. There are other things that might work but not as good, like a Home Depot will have roughing spray for other uses but maybe you can try different brands and different textures because some spray out large particles you need to get one with small particles.

My understanding - and I may be wrong - is that the spray itself hasn't been banned, it's the posting it across Europe that is now illegal and that this applies to all aerosols.

Ok cool so if aerosols are banned maybe the liquid bottle may be available for Testers Dullcote, its worth a shot.

The standard way of preventing smudging here in Iceland, seems to be a liquid Windsor & Newton fixative. Has anyone tried this? Should any fixative work, in your opinion?
