Muscle Pass Problems

Postby Sir_Digby_Chicken_Ceaser » Jun 3rd, '07, 17:44

Okso as of recently ive been trying to learn the muscle pass. I found the "sweet spot" in my hand and to start of popped the coin downwards just to get the feeling. Unfortunately now when i try to pop the coin upwards it always pops out of the side rather than going stright upwards. Is this natural when learning the move or am i missing something?

Thanks in advance

Sam

A video might be helpful in determining the issue.
I started off by shooting it sideways. I was able to shoot it a good foot to the side when I started shooting it up. Consistent practice (that drove no less than three of my teachers nuts, got me to shoot the coin a foot and a half up.

Basically, it's probably just lack of practice.

The "Foundations" section of the above link has good tips on the muscle pass. I'm not sure if it's what you need, but I hope it helps.

It took me about 6 months to get this right. I used to practice until my hand was almost bleeding, then took a break for a little while. Soon a callous started developing and practicing became less painful. Now it works well.
