I've been teaching my nephew (who is nine) magic & he taking to it like a duck to water. Mainly self-working card effects and some using props an rubber bands, etc. His presentation is excellent for one so young & I really want to encourage him.
What books are good for kids his age? The only ones I have are more adult & I think Mark Wilson's one will be perfect in a year or so but are there any with nice, easy to perform effects in for youngsters?

Check out Bob Longe's books - pretty simple but quite effective; I have a few, I reckon he might get some use out of "The Big Book of Card Tricks".

Nicholas Einhorn's book - comes in various titles - it's rather like a cut down Mark Wilson but with lots of colour photos, history etc.

You'll find it on Amazon under the titles "The Art of Magic" and "How to Do Magic Tricks ", or look out for paperback versions in bargain bookshops.
