I'm currently using Mozilla Firefox, and was informed upon opening the website that the security certificate expired last year. I hope their inability to keep track of security is not representative of their ability to track stock.

They seem to have a fair amount of rare and out of print material, so either they are listing unstocked material for the sake of completeness and to pad their catalogue, or you have stumbled across a veritable gold mine.

Also, I can't seem to find a contact link/address anywhere on their website. It may just be me, but that does strike as rather ominous.

I truly hope that you receive the books. If not, then at least a refund and apology be promptly provided..

Regards,
Harry.

Harry... my worries summed up in one message there....

Thought it worth a shot though, compared to 60/70 quid for either one of them.

Won't be a happy chappie if they try to con me though.....

They don't exist in white pages and their phone number does not exist.

They have no contact section on the site and they have an invalid secure html certificate.

I'd leave that well alone.

Pure Effect has no ISBN, so no, but if you'd really like to read his thoughts on the minutiae of performance, knock yourself out with Absolute Magic, though I doubt the British Library system has many copies.

Yep guys... it was a fix, true and proper.

Fair play to the 'trader' though, I raised a case via PayPal and he/she refunded my money. Some comment about it being 'lost in the post' (yeah ok) but money refunded without question.

Managed to get 'Magic' elsewhere, but still searching for 'Effect' for a reasonable price. If anybody knows where I can get it, let me know eh?

Cheers.

Chris.

I went to the library to see if PE or AM were there. The guy checked the computer and said there were no such books and basically called me a liar and told me off for wasting his time.
Is this common library practice?
Think i'll join a library based forum and rant there.

I suggest you immediately contact his employers, Council or whoever, and politely relay this to them. There's no need for anyone to be insulting, just because he couldn't find the books doesn't mean it's your fault. If he had any decency he would have just said that the system didn't show the books therefore he couldn't help. A swift pointer in this direction, or perhaps in the direction of Derren's website, would show the existence of both works.

Iv'e just bought Pure Effect AND Absolute magic ebooks from ebay for only £15. It sounds too good to be true. I've tried for ages to get these books.
I feel likeI should pay more for this kind of material.

Someone I used to work with wrote a novel. I tried to buy a copy at Waterstones and they couldn't find it, yet the book had been published and reviewed.

They didn't accuse me of lying, though. How rude.
