No worries Alan, I've been having particular fun with the Evolution principle. I've had the 'kit' for it for ages but haven't really got around to playing with it properly. Now I take great joy in prepping up notepads and business cards and leaving them around the house ready for some truly astonishing 'impromtu' stuff to do on visitors.

The in-laws came by earlier and just before they left I asked if I could try something. They picked up a pad which was sat by the phone, I ripped off the top couple of sheets which had writing on and proceeded to draw an amusing likeness of my father-in-law. After some minor hilarity at the exagerated features I pointed out that I'd got a detail wrong, he doesn't have a fringe. hey presto the fringe was swiftly dragged off the picture. I don't think I've ever had such a stunned reation from the pair of them.

I have FoF 1 and got a great deal out of it. No point in adding to the good reviews, only that I agree with them mostly. I also loved Trickery and think that BBM have put out some great stuff and are a highly likeable company - as long as they keep up the good products and good prices, I'm not complaining. If they start to rest on their laurels and flog us sh*te because "their brand sells", well, I'll start to feel different!

One quick question Alan if you're still around - where did you get the glass that is used in 3 Shot Slammer? I love those old style American whiskey glasses and have been looking for some for myself anyway, but can't find any for sale online below a quantity of 48! I believe it is a "2 oz fluted whiskey glass", and unfortunately I suspect your answer will be "I liberated it from a bar..."! Perhaps more bars in Scotland are stocked with such glasses, given their natural thirst for the amber nectar... :P I've tried it with a few other glasses and it's worked ok, I'm just a perfectionist (my favourite coin sleight is the anal retention vanish  )

P.S. I love the idea of developing a shot glass and coin routine because it packs small and is so relavent to most places I perform - not to hijack the thread too much but if anyone has any other suggestions for similar routines I'd love to hear them.

As Atomo mentioned above (think it was this thread, haven't checked) Daniel Garcia's Quarters routine is very good and uses a small glass/shot glass. Probably the most visual of it's type. I thought the routine on FoF was weaker in comparison as the way you hold the glass gives a clue to the methodology to some extent but the final phase is great.

If you're interested Farlsborough (or anyone else for that matter) since viewing FoF I've been working on my own coin thru shot glass which I humbly think is quite good. The first penetration is through the bottom of the glass a la Garcia, the second is the FoF vanish and reappear under the glass, on the third try I slam the coin on the base of the glass and it falls to the table as a jumbo coin. The last bit is pretty astonishing and unexpected but I've hardly performed the routine yet so I can't give a rounded report on general spec reaction. If anyone would like to know how I go about the routine drop me a pm.

Look over garcias man. Its a good one too. The glass, i was happily given 4 of them from a bar around here. I knew the manager at the time and he was kind enough to give me some.

Hi guys, just to update this for anyone who was interested in getting one of the thick/recessed bottom shot glasses - the "secret" as it were is... espresso shot glasses. Whittards have a perfect one for £3.

I was amazed when I watched this to find the shot glasses in my pub are the exact same ones used! Havn't practised this yet as I'm only just discovered what I've been missing out on (coins!) but will definately use. Now I just need to steel one from the pub

A quick question on behalf of the sub-terminally lazy (me); is the deep impression gaff the same in construction as the card through arm gaff card I have seen? I don't actually know how it works but I presume it is simmilar in construction to the cigarette through card. Anyway, I don't want to know how it works, just if it is the same or simmilar, as I would probably buy the gaff instead of making it (unless it really is that quick and easy).

Anyhoo, nice review - I just might buy that (oh no, I feel the onset of CUPS noooooooooooooooo have mercy!)

Cheers.

It isn't the same as cigarette thru card - I've not seen the card thru arm gaff, but this is definitely one you'd make, not buy...!
