May I join Sly and Zack in congratulating Simon and the crew for organising a great event! The dealer's room was excellent and packed...Magic Books by Post had some great offers and a new mailing list with discounts, etc.

For me Chris Power was a real treat. His nonchalance was beguiling and disarming. His coins through the silk was pure artistry...and his style of slow magic was something to behold. He also demonstrated that first principles are always crucial...one ahead...moving on the offbeat...and wrapping everything up a smooth discursive package that brings a wry smile. It was a privilege.

Juliana was the other extreme (in terms of big magic): professional, measured, graceful, powerful, and exceedingly generous...her lecture was excellent and reminded us all of how lucky we are to have such vast freedoms and resources available to us. Her show was beautiful, well-scripted, and with wonderful music. It was a pure delight to see her on stage, to meet her, and watch her work with the attendees in showing them how to really do card manipulation.

The day went by very quickly and there was a real buzz about the venue, which was fantastic (bigger, better location, and wonderful stage for the Gala Event). My evening guests were very impressed with the performances and I was proud of our society.

Hats off to the IMS and good fortune for next year!

wow. what a day.

I'm still buzzing with the whole exerience, but I will write in depth later. I have some great photo's to share.

It amazes me more people don't attend magic conventions. They are such great value for money.

For those interested, there was a reprot in the local newspaper here

A big thankyou to Simon and Co for another great day of magic.

My personal highlight was seeing Graham P Jolley in the evening show, and his approach to audience management--I can now appreciate why he's such a hit on the conference/after dinner circuit. Solid mentalism combined with ascerbic wit, - a deadly combination !

Thanks again, and see you next year.

Was a good convention, I thought it woulnd't be great because of the line-up but hell was I wrong.

Juliana Chen was amazing to see, and I finally managed to get ahold of a manipulation deck to fulfil my card manipulation needs.
The close-up section was very entertaining, Matthew J Dowden was a name and face I had not seen before, but he was amazing in the effects he performed and the way he presented them, great smiling chap.

The evening show was brilliant, Graham P Jolley was easily my favourite of the performers, such a funny and confident performer.
My dad quite liked Crisco and his style, I would love to see more of him, like videos on the internet.

Didn't she just take your breath away! And what a nice person. Were you in the bar area when whe was giving her impromptu workshop?

Matthew's a lovely bloke, and I agree his close up magic is well worth watching. You should see him when he really get's going! Have you seen his DVD - Animal Magic yet? - no that's wrong. it's Party Animal isn't it? - anyway - it's very good. There's a review here somewhere. Definitely worth picking up. You should have bought it at the convention, he would have signed it for you.

Graham's a lovely bloke too, and a member of Ipswich so he does pop along sometimes. A very funny man, although he was a little unlucky with hsis choice of helpers on the night, but being the true professional he still managed to make it all work.

There's very little about Crisco on the net. It took me months to actually track him down. I am really glad I did now.

Yea it was brilliant!.
I remember seeing her a few years ago on Marco Tempest's "Virtual Magician", and been fond of her as a manipulator ever since.

That is a shame, I should have investigated into the performers beforehand, would have been nice to have a signed product.
