Spectator: "How did you do that?"
Me: Well, can you keep a secret?
Spectator:(Excitedly) Yes, yes, I can.
Me: So can I.
Or
Spectator: How did you do that?
Me: Very well thank you.

Spectator: Can you do it again?
Me: Sure, (just turn his card over again. not repeat the whole trick, just the last movement.)

If the spectator is really persistant and wants you to do the trick a second time, he or she is most likely trying to catch you out. Sometimes the best way is to have a second handling for the trick and repeat it that way. If there are other spectators,"everyone would get real board seeing me do the same thing over and over."

If none of these work, fill a squirting nickel with lemon juice and tell him to stare closely at the coin and squirt it into his eye. Once blinded you could do the trick and he won't catch you.
Just kidding,
Lime juice works as well.

"I can't tell you. I revealed a secret once before and a group of magicians tied me down and pulled off my thumb, Now I can do this." (removes thumb illusion) if you have a TT palmed when you do it. It gets a laugh and sometimes they forget what they asked you in the first place.

Its strange this, everyone at work who knows me ask for it again. One of them just kept on asking when I was showing tricks to someone else, she had already seen it anyway. I just turned to her, demonstrated my pi**ed off look and said 'No.' I am manager, aswell, so she cant really argue with me, lol.
But I went to pick my partner up from work the other day, and while waiting for her put a show on for the waiters who work there, and no-one asked me to show them a trick twice. They were a very good audience and their reactions made me smile like this :D but when i finished or did a different trick they were happy with what i gave them.

Is it because they didnt know me?
because they are just different sort of people, or because I gave them a small routine with the tricks? Individual tricks on their own, I have experienced are bound to get the horrible questions.

When someone knows you, they are more comfortable asking you to repeat something. In their eyes you aren't a performer, you are just a friend demonstrating something. I would feel comfortable asking a friend to grab me a drink when he goes up to the lunch counter, but not a complete stranger. Of course some people just make horrible spectators. They will constantly pester you. I just stop performing for them, they aren't looking for the wonder of magic, just a puzzle to solve. I expect everyone runs into these people. They are not bad people, they just view magic as something to solve. One thing to keep in mind when performing magic, don't make the effect about the trick. Never focus on what is going to happen. "Oops, I seemed to have torn your bill, so sorry about that. Here let me fix it." If you make the effect seem just like an after thought the person doesn't have time to prepare and will be surprised.

they either say no why?....to which i just act like im kidding with them,
im a mock derren and its a joke and do they want to see another...

if they say yes....it usually means they're now hooked right in to it. I love that. :D
