Howard the Duck was a cult Marvel comic in the 1970's that George Lucas turned into a truly awful film in the 1980's.

it was also the first Marvel comic to be turned into a feature film that actually got a theatrical release.

Surely there was the terrible original Spider Man film in the 70's that was rushed out to get in theatres before the first Superman blockbuster?

I may of course be wrong.

Superman was 1978 henceforth also before 1980's
Or do we not know the meaning of "theatrical release" So what does that mean? what's the difference to a standard release?

Yes but the original Spider Man theatrical release was very much Marvel and pre-dates Howard the Duck by a good 6 years or so.

Hang on though...a quick flash has entered my brain. Perhaps the original Spider Man movie that had a general theatrical release in the UK was in fact a made-for-TV movie in the States? Now I'm confused.

Sorry old bean, it was very early in the morning and I'd only just got back in the country, also I didn't know that links to videos now had to be put in a special thread..

AC/DC - who cares about his personal preferences as long as he keeps on saving the planet whilst wearing his Y fronts on the outside? :D

They don't have to be. i just made it to try and tidy up a bit and avoiding having lots of threads of people going "watch this video", just have one big "watch these videos" thread
