And I suppose the fat from sirloin wouldn't work would it? Not the correct consistency

Thats why I only use a little.

And make it the fat right by the bone.. you tend to get traces of marrow in which help work the henna.. i came across it by mistake, didnt think it would work but it did.

Yes and dont get Sirloin, that just doesnt function at all.. the fat contents are way too greasy.

no it is due to the consistency of the henna.

Maybe try jaguar instead? It is slightly more expensive, but it does the job.

I don't think I can find it in vietnam.
btw why do you need banana leaves or fat?

you have heard of grease type boons from 13 steps??

same reason.. its the slight element of grease that makes boons work like they do, the same consistency of grease from banana skin or steak fat makes the billet pencil work like a charm

In the UK, the most common method is to hollow out the pencil using a Hugo Wild hollowing knife and place six or seven of what we call in Britain Co-Co pops into the hollowed out section to create the relevant weight required. Slice a ridge in the side of the hollowed out pencil.

You will need to grow you right finger nail to half an inch so you can insert it into the ridge to obtain the billet.

Hope this helps, this method has never let me down. It comes from the impossible to get hold of lecture notes of the legendary close-up magician Hank Key.

Sorry to spoil the fun folks, but I'm going to have to intervene here... i'd hate to think there's a young guy out there spending time, effort, and money because of the 'advice' given by some TM members, no matter how amusing I found it to be ;)

LilChris, everything stated about henna, banana, and yada yada has been a JOKE, in response to your damned well immature response to the help both I, and Craig Browning have given you. It's already been said, the billet pencil is outdated, and there now exists much easier and more cost effective ways to pull off effects requiring billet switches.

I know it's not the answer you want to hear, though even if you insist, we're not allowed to tell you how to create a billet pencil. I think. I'm not too sure. Gotta read up on the TalkMagic terms of use myself

As a further suggestion, check your manners. You'll get along easier on these boards, as well as generally in life. The field of mentalism in particular demands a rather mature personality, one which you should work on developing for yourself.

And as a final word, no hard feelings for the insult. I guess being told to shut up over a forum isn't as effective as in real life.

And for all the others, once again, sorry to ruin your fun :(

That's odd, I have the same method detailed in lecture notes from the Spanish illusionist Juan Kerr. :?

the only problem is that i can't bring knives or stuff like that at school,
but
isn't there something else?
i want 2 know about the pencil
1) i can bring it at school
2) it is more convincing to open it and then take out the paper without palming the other billet or anything else

Ok then, you make one like this...

you get a pencil and a very very sharp knife. You slice down the side of the pencil so you have it chopped in half, halfway.

You then put marks in it at ever 1/4 of the way up, horizontally.

At these grooves, you pour in a henna mix, and wait for it to crumble and dry (a henna mix contains lemon juice, henna leaves e.t.c...a simple search on google shall tell you all that you need to know)

Once it is dry, you have a redish tinge in different parts of the pencil. On the highest mark, you put in a small neo magent (once again, covered in henna so that it is camoflaged)

On the lowest groove, you put in a small piece of bannana peel (once again...very small, and covered in henna)

Congratualtions, you are done!

Once you have made this, I'll teach you how to use it. Though once you see it in its full glory, it should become obvious, even if it does sound strange over the net.

Let us know when you are done, post up pictures, and we'll tell you if it is correct or not, and then directions on how to use it!

Good Luck in making it!

Love

Chris

you need 2 types.. regular superglue.. and changing glue..

mix the2 types of glues then you wont have to worry about it sticking to your fingers.

make sure you mix them by hand though! If you get any other material into it, you ruin it and the pencil won't work as well!
