I'm begginning to understand what is being said, and he does make a very good point.

Read, and absorb people. He makes simple points, but effective ones, if you actually apply it

THANK YOU MANDRAKE FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING

Postby karl » Sep 5th, '07, 23:13

i AM ABOUT TO CONFIRM THAT THIS GENTLEMAN SO CALL mandrake, beside his strange and hard job in this forums (I guess haited by many)
is totally a gentleman, comming like SUPERMAN to help the poors in trabel.

Actrually i do speeck five languages, and preforme also in five, but when its come to put them down to paper, there i have problems.

I was thinking that i just register in a TALKMAGIC forum to meet nice poeple, and talk "MAGIC"
But I have obserb that about 60% of you, spend most of the time, been negative about others, and been ironic and sometimes funy, and sometimes using (what some ones may understand), racistic and making the guy in the other side feel stupid, and upset with himself because he cant properly speeck a language

And whats funy about all this, is that most of those who spend there time putting down others, ARE FAR FROM BEEN "AMATEUR" MAGICIENS

Then there is this other group (better magiciens but NO professional), who dont have what is needed to quite there formal and sure jobs (ingenieurs, bakers, electriciens, etc....because they get a sure CHEQUE at the end of the month, that send notes in this forum, like if they new everything about the profession, and speek like looking from upstairs.

After seing this couple of messages, I think I feel to say good by to every one; because I think I came to the wrong place

Good by mandrake, and again thank you
P.S
tHOSE WHO CAN SPEEK BADLY FIVE OR MORE LANGUAGES, HAVE MUCH MORE CHANCES TO FIND A JOB THEN THOSE WHO ONLY SPEEK ONE PERFECTLY (in show biss)

For general information
I am Pro Spanish stage and close up magicien on tour in Morocco invited by the royal house for 6 month and royal command preformer by the spanish royal famelly .

For those who dont know; In morocco you speek arabic.
I do , do you?
Thats maiby why, its me, and not you working here now for this poeple.

Don't go old chap. We are merely being British and are a very rude people by nature. Only Australians are worse.

I expect you speak English better than 100% of us speak Arabic. And the odds of us writing anything in Arabic are possibly a million to one.

I am a royal performer too you know. I once showed Prince Philip a card trick and thought he would invite me to Buckingham Palace. He didn't.

As for you speaking Spanish I could have done with you the last two months. I have been in Mexico performing at the resorts. I was performing for Americans but as we all know they can't speak English either.

there are some idiots on here Karl, it's best just to ignor them. It really upsets me when I see people putting others down for their spelling or the way that they write.

I thought you had some very good points and if I can understand what you're writing I don't see why other people don't.

You're more than welcome here Karl, just please ignor the idiots.

I have to say that I'm intrigued by your 'Mental Control Watch' which Mandrake pointed out in one of the links he posted: http://www.hanklee.org/xcart/product.ph ... t=0&page=1

I have had a CW 'Perfect Time' for a number of years but this seems on a different level. Could you possibly PM me about it if it's not too much trouble, karl. Not looking for the secret, I just have a couple of questions. Alternatively, if anyone has this item then a review would be great.

Not to cause any more trouble, but in my opinion some of your posts hold rather rude or degrading, maybe even pompus comments them selves. So ironic, maybe...Pot calling the kettle black...hmmm.

Personally I think the ability to spell and use grammer are rather needed.
That is defined to your main language. When I see an English speaking (as their first language) user on here, I expect them to be able to spell or at least use the spell check. Thats why its there.
Now if your first language isnt the main one used on the forum, that can cause trouble. For one there are posters that will get annoyed at it, and generally the original poster will blow a fuse and also make a fuss.
I know how to speak Spanish, but I dont go around posting on Spanish based forums, blogs, or whatever.
I feel if your going to join a forum, with a language not of your first... at least make an attempt to do it well. This isnt directed to any one in particular, just in general.
Now text messaging type... that is a hassel and should be left on the phones and msn and aim. Not the forums. Theres no excuse for that.

I say if the original poster is foreign in language and you cant fully understand, ask for clarity if possible. But I would also recommend that the original poster, point out what thier first language is. As that will help assist the readers.

Okay, done with my slight rant.
(trust me, if some of you were on some of the forums I visit, you would understand the spelling problems)

I agree with you David, the posts came across to me, as not making any sense whatsoever and I tried to address this with humour.

The whole thing is that this post looks like a personal message that has been posted as a topic by mistake and if anyone else did the same thing and made no sense they would be put straight into the sin bin.

Where on this forum does it say that Mandrake is 'hated by many'?
Quite the opposite, I'd say. Sorry, language problems or not, these posts come across as nonsensical rantings to me.

No disrespect to Karl, but if people are having trouble understanding you (and that's quite fair, I'd say) then you should be able to reiterate yourself without getting the hump.

Nothing I've posted was 'belittling' or 'demeaning' anybody, but done with humour. Those that think this the is case have their own issues regarding their insecurites about their usage of language to address.

Thats basically what I said at one point, and yet I get a pm from karl.
Though my translation might have been rusty, it wasnt a very friendly pm.
But I guess like many people do, they mis-read my posts or take it the wrong way.

Yeah!

I also received an unpleasant pm from him. Just because he's a "professional" doesn't mean he should be given special allowances to behave how he likes. There's a lot of arrogance and bitterness in his posts which I find incredibly condescending. If anyone else had posted such drivel they would be sin binned and banned.
At least Kras's posts made some kind of sense even though they had them same kind of self-congratulatory tone to them.

He is a foreign gentleman who does not hail from any part of the British Empire. Consequently he may not understand our rather awful sense of humour.

I think it is about time we were nice to him. He is a travelling professional and may have something to teach us particularly the younger members who really need to be weaned off annoying people doing magic on the streets.
