My new copy of the Almanac is in the house!

In true Outlaw fashion, the product is unbelievably well made: aged to perfection (1938) and full of amazing images harking back to the era, including lots of great esoteric and metaphysical symbols, pictures (you will absolutely love all the multiple references), and quotations. This looks like the real thing that would be 'found' hidden in a wall or locked away in a box for years. It also makes an interesting reference to the Sanctum Lodge (the existence of which has caused quite a debate on the Magic Cafe and here....)

The facing pages contain 500 truths, AND, the back of the book comes with a little pocket with appropriately aged Tarot Cards.

The inner workings are pure genius and provide you with mulitple presentational ideas for a variety of performance styles and settings (mentalism, bizarre, seance and reading work), which could really work well in tandem with other routines and effects.

You also get a 32-page manual written by Outlaw and Dr Bill suitably printed in the same size and feel of the Almanac.

Hats off to Rick and Dr Bill!

After being impressed with the Outlaw items I have, I think this will be by next purchase, particularly after the postitve comments above and in this thread.
Has anyone performed it yet? Is it straighforward to use? How long does the routine take? Is it suitable for a stage performance?

No sign of mine yet... but then my Relic arrived weeks after everyone else's too!

i ordered the relic, scorpion, and almanac. I'll assume mine shall arrive last, as they all have to be created!

Christmas came early to my house - The Witches Almanac, Reflections and Sanctum II in one big friendly envelope.

I don't know why I've been putting off buying Reflections for so long. It's tremendous!

And the Witches Almanac is stunning too. Sufficiently spooky in tone to appeal to spectators with an interest in new age stuff, but still manages to avoid being tacky or contrived in its references to witchcraft. It's every bit as devious as Reflections - perhaps more so with its initial selection processes.

Both books will come with me on all my close-up engagements from now on.

Absolutely love 'em!

Now to make some sense of the Sanctum II card...

Absolutely yes.

Mechanically, they're very similar. But the tone, presentation and perceived effect are distinctly different.

Because one claims a psychological stance and the other takes a new-age approach, you wouldn't use them back-to-back with the same spectators. But neither takes up much pocket space and gives you the chance to p[lay to your current spectator's weaknesses - be it archair psychology or witchcraft.

I'm very pleased to have bought both.

Have you tried it on anyone yet? I should imagine it creates a strong response, especially if there is no fishing.

The Almanac is totally different and has a great feel about it. Easy to do, straighforward approach, and yet so much to reveal and work with. You can add readings and drawing dupes as well. This is truly very very good!
