Shame resident evil 5 isn't coming out on wii cause it can't handle the graphics apparently, but resident evil umbrella chronicles is and if I get that and super mario galaxy for christmas I'd be a happy chappie

Call of Duty 4 is making me weep tears of awe as I sit here now watching my housemate shoot people all over the world. I mean, you can even shoot through fences and flimsy bricks! And the graphics are the best thing I've ever seen on a console, when you pop some twit in the head you get a lovely splash of blood up the wall behind them and a couple of bullet holes.

I'd rather be practicing or learning something new than playing all of these electronic games  Showing my age now

I own a 360 and having now played a 360 next to the pllaystation 3 at the weekend, both through HDMI cables and to the same model of TV I can see no difference to really tell them apart. I was using COD4 as the game and it is awesome, agree with everything that Bronz said.

Even though there is problems on the servers for both games, its much easier to find a game on the 360 version than the PS3 version. This generation is about choice, the machines won't seperate the consoles only the game titles.

I personally love the achievement points as well

My wife and I own a Wii and a PS2. The Wii is good for some things (sports games most notably - we have The Bigs, Tiger Woods, and Rapala Fishing) but it is not intuitive for first person shooters. We'll stick with both for now, and when the price comes down on a PS3, get one of those (and still have the Wii - I absolutely love golf/baseball on the Wii)

I was a ps2 man for a long time, but the 360 im my eyes has obliterated the competition! Better games, more exclusives, better online capabilties!

If the PS3 is going to shine, this seems to be its year! Nice games coming out and price dropps (wooh!)

I think its a shame most people typecast the wii as a novelty because of the motion sensitive controller and wii sports when it was just used as a way to show what the controller can do, but if you can look past wii sports you will see theres more to it, but I got a wii because I like mario and zelda and most people would buy a console because it has the games on it they want to play, I got Super Mario Galaxy for christmas and I'm enjoying it a lot but then again I love platform games, I don't own or have ever played a ps3 or xbox 360 but it comes across that the people who own them are more into war and racing type games

Call Of Duty 4 is WAY to easy and short. Veteran difficulty took me a very short amount of time, only really worth it for the online which is BRILLIANT!

I just tried to compare these three consoles in the web.
Okay. Here are the results:

Microsoft XBox 360
http://www.testfreaks.co.uk/game-consoles/xbox-360/
Score: 7.4 out of 10 based on reviews from 152 sources in 32 countries.

Sony PlayStation 3
http://www.testfreaks.co.uk/game-consol ... station-3/
Score: 9.0 out of 10 based on reviews from 137 sources in 29 countries.

Nintendo Wii
http://www.testfreaks.co.uk/game-consoles/nintendo-wii/
Score: 8.6 out of 10 based on reviews from 214 sources in 22 countries.

So as you can see yourself the best score has the second one.
As for me - I'm totally agree with the crowd. I voted for PS3 in this poll

Wow, good way to bring a topic up from the dead! If you're into magic do feel free to stop by and post a little about yourself in the introduction section. :)

I won a PS3 the other day, haven't had much time to play with it considering exam overload, but it's a pretty nice piece of equipment. Although I do want a Wii....
One thing for sure. MGS4 is the greatest game in world, to date. It's perfect.

If you look you can see the expert score for the 360 is 8.6 where as the PS3's is only 8.1, and the 360 is 2 points higher for value for money. The only reason the PS3 got an overall 8.8(not 9.0!) where and the 360 got a 7.7(not 7.4!) is because the website is bias and they were just the scores from that website.

If you want to take international score averages (instead of making them up!)you will find the 360 beats the PS3 hands down!

The mean score from the 3 sub-catorgories the PS3 got only 7.67 and the 360 got 8.43

PS3
User Score -8.9
Expert Score -8.1
Value for Money - 6
AVERAGE - 7.67

360
User Score -8.7
Expert Score -8.6
Value for Money - 8
AVERAGE - 8.43

Plus great first post to a magic forum, no intro, not related to magic, digging up an old thread and lying. Your gonna fit in well here *cough*

I was looking to buy a blu ray player seeing as they have already stopped producing HD. It looks like I'm going with the PS3 as most other blu ray are already out dated. blu ray.2 is already out, the advantage of the ps3 is they have a port to load the firmware for updates for the blu ray. A blu ray player that can do that now are in excess of $600.00 I can get an Ps3 80gig rather then 40 for 500.00 and a controller for the blu ray plus a few games are included. What gets expensive is the bloody HDMI cables. Luckly I work for a cable company and can get HDMI the other issue is that you can use component cables even though they say you loose quality (you don't for HD) we have hooked up a meter at work and watched through both HDMI and component cables. There is no difference visually or according to the meter. In fact the longer the HDMI cable the worse it gets (as with all cables) but with HDMI it gets worse quicker.

My question is the extra 40 gig worth the price? It is about 100.00 more. I have the original xbox and love it, I don't play online and was contemplating the 360 but for a variety of reasons have pretty much ruled it out.
