You are clearly a gifted psychic, Jason. Yes oh yes, oh how I am so totally excited. My work is coming along so nicely and soon, very soon, some fun things will burst upon the magic scene filled with promises of wild places and never before seen Illusions. In fact, the first will be the grandest of all.

Loving Wands

Postby Amanda Angeli » Oct 23rd, '07, 20:56

Hello All,

So, since Magicdiscoman mentioned wands, I wonder how many of us love them. I know I sure love magic wands. In fact, I'm looking for the perfect magic wand even right now. Any suggestions? It's got to be something wild and rugged and untamed, not unlike a Klingon hopefully. Maybe I'll just have to find one. I'd love if it could do some tricks. But what, what would fit me, that's the challenging part. What kind of wand would be perfect for a surfer girl?

Love,

Amanda Angeli

Last year I got one at a renassaince fair. I like it, but I don't use it. I haven't found a use for a "wand" in my routine.

Hello Monkers,

That's a truly wonderful idea about the Renassaince fair, thank you. That was very kind of you to suggest that.

One made from driftwood?

Hello Part Timer,

Brilliant, you are utterly brilliant. Thank you. Silly Amanda. Okay, the surf calls my soul and I shall find my magic wand. And, as for what it can do, well, I'm an Illusionist for goodness sake, it'll be able to do anything with a bit of the sea muse dancing within me.

If you type "magic wands" into Google you'll come up with some really good on-line stores that stock some wonderful wands. Most are in the States, one is in the UK.

I know, I used to be in the trade - hence the ridiculous user name that I'm stuck with!!!

Hello TheMagicWand,

Yes, I did think of you. I'll bet you must have had and still have one of the beautiful of all magic wands. I'd so love to see it someday. Your suggestion of google is great of course. Thank you. I was just hoping for some ideas from you boys about things you've liked because you have so much more experience with wands than I do. And, well, for what it's worth, I think your name is really cute.

You don't happen to know of any stores that have driftwood type magic wands, you know, sort of rugged ones, do you? I'd so appreciate any help that you might have on such a topic.

Hello Jason,

Wow, a vibrating wand, how exotically fun would that be. So, Jason, it sounds like I'd have to build one like you just described it I wanted it from driftwood. I guess I could buy one, take it apart, get some driftwood and then reassemble it, perhaps. Do you or any of the lads have any experience in that sort of thing? Oh my gosh, and the hotrod design, oh you just melted my heart Jason, oh fun. You know something, we all belong to the greatest site in the world, I so love it how everyone comes together with beautiful ideas to help each other. We are just the most wonderful family. Oh how I can so hardly wait for the day when I can meet all of you.

Hello Lads

Postby Amanda Angeli » Oct 24th, '07, 00:47

Hello All,

So, the reason I'm hoping for a beautiful magic wand, now of course I'm dreaming of one like Jason described above (oh my gosh does his wand steal a girl's heart). Well, as some of you know I love the Indian Cups and Balls. For those who don't know, it is a very different style than the Classic Cups and Balls most of us are used to.

I'm not sure if I ever posted my version of the Indian Cups and Balls, with my Illusions and such added to it. If not, I should, you'll all have fun with it I so hope for it is, well, very different. At any rate, a wand like Jason described would be so perfect.

In the Indian style, one sits on the ground and your tools are taken from a special bag. It's truly an awesome trick and it fits me. My interpretation of that of course is so different it is nothing like the original, yet, I love the wand aspect of the trick for it adds to the history of it and I love history so. And, when you do hear about or see my Illusion, you'll see why a wand would be so perfect.

Do any of you out there have experience building something like what Magicdiscoman described? If so, please oh please let me know.

Naturally, of course, when I do the trick, I'll do both versions of it. The original Indian Cups and Balls, to honor the history and tradition, and then, my interpretation of that. Oh how I love the cups and balls and all of its variants.

Hugs everyone.

Love,

Amanda Angeli

I would love to see your version of the Indian Cups and Balls. Do you have it on youtube? I love all forms of the trick. It is the best trick in magic.
