Opportunity available in Leeds ........

Postby moonbeam » Nov 11th, '07, 16:23

Well, I went to Leeds last night on a stag do and I ended up showing a couple of guys at the bar a few tricks (as you do  ). I didn't know they were both the owners of the place - the next minute a free shot of Sambuka appeared on the bar  .
"What's that for?", I asked.
"For keeping us and some customers entertained", they explained.
Well I got chatting and this pub has only just opened and one of them asked me if I would be willing to go back and entertain the punters - a bit of table hopping I suppose. They wouldn't be able to pay me, but they'd supply me with drinks.

Well, I explained that I didn't live nearby, but said that I'd put the word out on here. Personally, I think this is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to get some experience in table hopping etc, with a few free drinks thrown in for good measure.

The routines that I did were all quite basic - I showed them:
Biddle Trick.
Out of this world.
2 card monte.
Kept forcing the same card and "told" them to try and pick a different one.
P***ed their selected card into my back pocket (didn't have my wallet on me  ) - a few jaws hit the floor when I pulled it out of my back pocket  .
Possibly one or two other quite basic tricks (I was quite leathered, so they needed to be basic  ) and that was about it - so don't worry if you think you're not up to it - trust me, I'm no expert card manipulator and they were impressed enough with me :? .

I went in twice and each time I got 2 free Sambukas (I even tried to refuse the last one - but they were very persuasive  ).

If you're interersted, pop into "The Northern Monkey" on "The Headrow" in Leeds and just ask to speak to one of the owners.

If you are going to pop in, could you please let us know on here - it would stop the embarrassment of more than one person turning up.
Oh .... and if you do go - let us know how you get on too.
Good luck  .

QUESTION:
If we can sue McDonalds for making us fat and cigarette companies for giving us cancer; why can't we sue Smirnoff for all the ugly gits we've sh*gged ??

Ah but the clue may be here:

Still perhaps it would be good experince for a local lad or lass? And who knows what it might lead on to?

Well, that's exactly what I was thinking.

It would be no good to someone who already does this professionally, but if someone was just looking to take their first step and wanted to gain some invaluable experience - this would be ideal.
It's a shame it's not closer to where I live, 'cos I'd def be interested  .
