Sad to hear that Freddie, when I read Abra, it to had columns by regular contributors (Geoff Wade is a name I remember), and usually a couple of tricks to learn - shame if it's gone down hill. I'll maybe pick up a copy next time I'm over at Tam Shepherd's in Glasgow, Roy usually keeps the last few issues in stock.

I bought an issue this year and am complete agreement with you. There wasn't much of worth in it. Still, it was only a pound.

Repro used to publish Club 71 (not 33!) which is now called The Magician. Though if you have seen my other post you will know I am wondering whether it is still being published since I don't seem to have received a copy for a few months.

I still buy a copy of Abra whenever I happen to be in Davenports, but find it has lost much of its appeal too.

The Magigram will always be my first love, as the first 'real' magic magazine I ever subscribed too. I continue to be delighted that I managed to complete the set, and am contemplating making an online index of contents if I ever find time...

Here's a bit of useless knowledge for you!

The 1st 2 steps of 13 steps to mentalism were printed in Abra magazine. So it must have been good in the past!
