That may be the case, but twenty-odd days in a depot somewhere is not exactly the "global priority" service that the customer has paid for. I don't know how long delivery time should be under global priority, but I'm guessing from the name that it isn't nearly a month.

Whilst I understand the need for security checks and so on, the customer is still paying for a service which they are not receiving. If they can't deliver in the specified time slot, they should not be offering that particular method of dispatch. Personally, I would be happy to wait several months for Luna to arrive; just don't charge the customer X dollars for the privilege of having it go "global priority" when it evidently isn't.

I appreciate that you would be willing to wait for Luna, as many have and still are (each one is hand done)
They certainly do go Global Priority. Not sure why you would say that is not how it was sent. Ask Mr. Storm and he will verify that. It sat in your postal system for 3 weeks.
I have stuff get to Jarkarta Indonesia in 6 days global priority.

My cost is $11.00 to send that envelope and it is included in the price of the book, which makes the actual book cost $79.00 for a custom hand aged (every single page) and custom distressed covers.
. I assure you they are not going standard air mail

There were Lunatic asylums here in the U.S. back in the 30's too. I could have used any one of them but I have very loyal customers in the U.K. and we made Colney Hatch for you guys.

Luna was our way of returning the support you've given Outlaw and Todd and I wanted to create something really special for the U.K. customers.

Thanks

Rick

Sorry, Roth. My post was not directed at you but at the postal services. I've just re-read it and I can see how it could be misunderstood. I meant that the postal services should not be charging customers for global priority if they then end up holding it for several weeks. Anyway, my apologies for the confusion. I certainly wasn't having a go at you or Outlaw Effects.

For the record, I fully understand that once a dealer has posted the goods, it is then the responsibility of the postal services to actually deliver it in a timely fashion as dictated by the method of dispatch. My gripe is with the postal services; not with the dealers, Outlaw included. Sorry again, I should have phrased that post differently.

I understood what you meant Replicant, but I can see plenty of room for misunderstanding. I suspect the problem is that if Roth doesn't send it priority, it takes longer to leave the USA, so there is an even bigger delay.

I'm still waiting for my copy of Luna. Maybe I shouldn't have been so relaxed about it.

I think if we knew before purchasing that it was possible there could be some lenghty delays, it might be easier to take.

Maybe our expectations are a lot higher these days. Most purchases bought these days arrive quickly and without delay.

Luna is certainly a class product and very well made but just remember that it may take some time to get here.

Very creepy looking I think I might buy it.

Barton: Have you read the Bible, Pete?
Pete: Holy Bible?
Barton: Yeah.
Pete: Yeah, I think so. Anyway, I've heard about it.

Any overseas shipping is problematic since there are so many providers and random customs checks, so delays are natural. Products from the US can take anywhere between 5 days and 2 months depending on the company used and the security issues. I order from a range of providers in the US and simply take this as a given.

Dr Todd

With the risk of sticking my nose where it aint wanted here goes anyway.

This thread is now more concerned over the postal issues than the fine product which Luna certainly is. I know you have a lot of input into Luna and congratulations is certainly warranted.

Now to my point. Would it be viable or have you ever thought about holding a small stock over here in Gods country to try and eleviate this problem ?

I know Luna is hand made and they obviously take time to age, but if the time delays are down to overseas delivery it may be worth thinking about my friend.

Regardless of the problems with the postal services, I'm guessing all owners of Luna would agree that the wait, however long, is well worth it. I agree with this and I don't even own Luna! (Yet...) I'm surprised no one has written a proper review yet.

I live near the site of the old asylum in Friern Barnet (where Princess Park Manor now stands) and drive past it quite often. I always mention the history of the place to any passengers in my car; my poor wife has heard my creepy story so many times I reckon she knows it better than me now. :D When I first heard that Luna was being released and read up on the background behind the effect, I just had to have it.

I've not had chance to road test Luna as yet, but once I do I'll write a review, thats if no one beats me to it.

I dipped into Outlaws forum the other day and it certainly has got people talking.

I would have loved to have been at Tabula Mentis and seen this professionally presented.

The damn thing is so dark and creepy its gonna proper freak some people out.

I am glad I asked for a performance; it was great to see Dr Todd demonstrate 'Luna'. Having said that, it makes the wait even more annoying!
