Looking for a flash wand

Postby Lady of Mystery » Jan 29th, '08, 16:19

Now this isn't something I'd normally use but I think it'd work quite nicly in a routine I'm putting together.

I've been looking around and have found some that take a cap but I don't really want a noisy one, I want it to be quiet. I've come across some electric ones but what are these like and are they any good?

All the ones I've seen say 'send a fireball 15 feet across the stage' but I don't really want anything that big, how easy is it to make a small flash, about 1 or 2 feet max with one of these?

Thanks all :D

Really should not be hard to create the small flash. It depends on how tight you pack the flash cottom or flash paper. It just takes some experimenting. Do you actually want a wand. You can get an electronic flash gun http://www.perfectmagic.com/p-1597-flas ... ronic.aspx
that will fit in the palm of your hand, battery operated easy to use and the ignitor is a glow plug so there is no noise.

I am sure there are also wands that don't require a cap but can't think of one off the top of my head. I know a fellow locally(Pennsylvania) who builds this kind of stuff I can ask him.

Thanks boys, I was looking at that one on world of magic. I'll have to play around to see if I can get a little poof rather than a big flash (there you go Lawrence, another innuendo for you) :D
