I wasn't that much of a fan of KRO bar, to be honest. I didn't get much of a laugh out of the laptop couple when I asked "Do you type here often?" and one of the bar staff was clearly gossiping about us. When she realised I knew what she was doing, she simply put a tray in front of her face and continued being a cow!

Yup the date's fine. Anywhere quirky that sells decent beer and food is fine. Dry on Oldham Street?

August 30 is fine with me. I might even have recovered financially from my July 31 tax bill.

The Manchester area NaNoWriMo writing group meets in the KRO Bar every November weekend, so I'm familiar with it. A bit pricey but generally an OK venue, and has a decent menu for those who want lunch. It's also very easy to find (enormous orange building). Also, being a restaurant, it allows underage people in -- which is important for the writing group, perhaps less so for the magic crowd.

I'll be there if I can, but it's looking unlikely. I've got the most horrendous fluey cold and feel like death warmed up. Would hate to infect anyone else.

What's the point of having a cold if you dont pass it on. It's the only good bit about the whole illness thing

Not whingeing, just moaning... er...*cough*

Have had this blasted virus for a week now and it's only just bottoming out, so I expect to be still draggy by the weekend. Col's on antibiotics that are making him feel disgusting too, so it's not exactly a cheery household at the moment.

No fun last Tuesday when the coughing was horrendous and I had to appear at a court hearing by telephone. "Do you agree that...?" "cough cough yes cough cough"

But your coughing would make amazing misdirection! ;)

But seriously, shame you can't come, get well soon!
