haha. When we had to do "mental" maths exams, we had to listen to a tape containing the questions. At the beginning, we would have the rules and a "no cheating" warning which was read by a woman with the most horrible welsh accent I've ever heard. It put most of the non-welsh speakers off for life. :D

James, 19, Lifelong student of magic and will carry on learning for the rest of my days if I'm a very lucky boy.

I wish to inform you that unless you memorise this entire table, you aren't really trying. :P

I remember when I was really young we had a magician come for a birthday party and he did something a little like this. It kept us all busy for about 5 minutes but I thought it was just annoying. I was very relieved when he found what he was looking for, only he started doing it again.

But, Ive got absolutely zero experience with kids so most know better than me!

This is brilliant Mark! And if I could stand kids, I'd do this for them.

this could be combined with the letter "y" prediction trick, all that lovely "why because i need to know" stuff and a lost prediction envelope at the end.
audience participation and a screaming match to boot.

Alas and alack-I think I am going to have to delete the above routine. The reason is that it has been mentioned in this week's Abra as one of the plums of my Wit and Wisdom book.

I am not sure it would be good for sales to have it for free on this site. However I shall give you all 24 hours to copy it. Then I think it will have to go.

Rather than that, how about we move this thread into the Magicians Only Area? I would imagine that most members have seen it and, most liklely copied it so it could disapear behind the veil for added privacy.

Dunno. It is magicians I am trying to hide it from. Since it is not an actual trick and no exposure is involved it doesn't matter if laymen read it.

It has been mentioned in Abra and that very mention may induce people to purchase my wondrous book. If people see it on here they will have no reason to do so.

Tell you what. If I receive 6 orders for my Wit and Wisdom book in the next 48 hours I shall reconsider. You all now have 48 hours to save it.

So, in other words, this was just a teaser for what ultimately became an advertisement.

I don't need Ohio money and I suggest you mind your own business. This is no "teaser" since I had no idea that the Abra thing was going to come out. I gave this material of my own free will and generosity.

You have now provoked me so I am going to remove this material forthwith. If anyone is upset you can blame it on Mr Jay.

I am withdrawing the offer that I would keep it up if I received 6 orders. You can't say I am advertising now.
