2004 Predictions.

Postby Jing » Jan 2nd, '04, 18:37

Does anyone have any magic related predictions for 2004?
I don't mean you tell me what card i will think of on April 6th?
More like about magicians we all know...
Derren's tour will be a success, again. and we'll probably see more of Monkey Magic (good).
Is Blaine's Dive of Death this year, Will it be a success or just a huge Flop? (and yes that was a pun)

Any More?

I think maybe Blaine will not do so well this year, regardless of what he does while Derren will out-stunt him somehow.
It could even be around the same time and billed as UK vs USA/us v them kind of thing.
I think if Blaine went back to magic we would warm to him again but I think the public has had enough and us Brits don't like to give people a second chance, lol.
Maybe they could just mudwrestle it out, one for the ladies there me thinks.

I hope/pray/think/sacrifice small children daily to try and influence the gods so that magic might well suddenly start to regain a large UK audience and find itself on primetime again, that would be nice.

Also magicdiscoman will be on the road again and blow us all away, seige will start selling very popular effects/routines/gimmicks-as will bananafish, yankeetom will move back to the states and end up headlining vegas (though the naked magician routine will cause a stir-nickj will take up the role of resident oil-up boy), mandrake will finaly admit he's frankie howard, happy toad wont set fire to his house again and the_mog will get a round in!
Oh, and I'll shut up, I promise...

Happy New Year :)

:D Will send in a suggestion to channel 4 immediatly. Derren will win of course, I will make sure of that. Then I predict that Derren will ask me out (Who cares about the age difference! Well, my dad might  ) which will solve the current severe boyfriend problems i.e that I haven't got one.

lol, nope not here!

ok I also predict that due to magic gaining tv time (I hope) as I mentioned earlier, we should see some new upcomming talent in magic that we haven't seen before.
It will be very mtv, very bloody, very fast, and most of us will hate it but it will do very well, this will be follwed by a rash of copycat extreme magic acts by pierced blokes with long hair and an ego the size of France.
I also think we will see a growth in very costly gimmicks to do tricks a trained magician does with relative ease but allows Fred down the pub to amaze Brenda in the skirt that's two sizes too small for such a chunky woman.

A silly answer but I really do think it will go that way, either way magic is surely on more peoples minds this year than it has been for a while.
Let's hope some of us manage to use the limelight well :)
