Electronic marvels

Hello, when I was surfing on the web I have seen a new website. http://www.fabricedelaure.com
I 've looked at the gimmicks and I am really interrested in Pocket Akana . Just Imagne it will allow us to guess any cards thanks to micro electronics and it looks really easy ! What do you think of ? It seems to be a little expensive.
Say me your opinion...

Thank you !

Ho ! and Happy new Year !

Sorry I have made a mistake in the other topic !

I can't say I don't like the effects.

Some would say they prefer to stick with the old fashioned slights to get things done, but let's face it. Magic is moving into a more technologically advanced age on the stage.

Method preferrences aside, I think if a person has the money to get one of those electronic illusions, then the guy should be allowed to use computerized effects to get the job done.

Wouldn't you like to be able to entertain with skill? Sleight of hand and misdirection, take time and effort to learn. Anyone could pick up the electronics and perform these effects. Yes, performance is important, but don't you want the satisfaction to fool someone because of your greater skill, rather than your greater bank balance?
Just my opinion, and you have yours...

Very interesting site, a must for the millionaire who wants to be an instant magician. :!: :!:
But could you imagine handeling your deck of cards knowing that the theyre worth 372 euros on their own.

Pocket Akana complete ref:
PAKA-1
1800 € :!:

Pocket Akana without deck ref:
PAKA-2
1428 € :!:

you would be scared to ask anyone to pick a card, thats 7.15 euros they would be holding. And if they asked to shuffle the deck and dropped 150 euros worth on the floor i dont think i could handle it

whats the point? I mean its very cool and everything but most of the effects done using these cards can be done with a regular deck of cards. I mean it may not be as direct a route, but your there to ENTERTAIN which means the tricks shouldnt be too short (wam bam thanku mam) as this ruins the personal rapport between magi and the spec which is built up with patter and such.

Ive hand an idear, how to do this trick the old analoge way without all of this micro technology.
You prepear your cards by attatching a piece of IT to each one. Now you loop the thread over a hook in the ceiling behind you and atatch the end of the thread to a the same corosponding thread behind you so the cards a lying on the floor!!!

Now the clever part, once you offer up the deck for the spectator to choose on and when they do they hold it towards them, not realising that theyre pulling the thread which is causing the corosponding card to be lifted a magically hovver above your head behind you, twice the trick and half the work,

Voila.

damn you are good! you should get that out for sale man!

how about making the threads metal and using a complicated 240 volt setup, if they get it wrong they get a new hair do?

Which reminds me, I was playing a game on new years morning, 4 of you hold a handle type thing with a button on it each.
These are connected to a glowing button on a base, you press this button and when it changes colour you have to press your button, if you press last you get electrocuted, great game, 20 quid gadget shop :)

Whilst we're on the subject of gadget shop, have you seen the roulette one? uo to four people stick their fingers in the gadget and one gets a shock. Great for drinking games, each person to be shocked is eliminated and the whole thing repeted with one less player, the one who doesn't get a shock has a drinking forfeit!
