I get close but then I find a two, one ruining the perfection. I'm reading Ed Marlo's wonderful instructions. I just hope that one day, just once I could do a perfect faro because even being slightly off is enough to ruin the trick. And if it's perfect, then you can keep shuffling until you come right back to the same order.

Marlo was a bit of a nob though.

Get the Fred Robinson book. Explained much better there imho.

Is there a different technique one must use to turn a competent riffle into a perfect one? And can you do it 'in the hands'?

Ok that's enough questions. :?

A good table faro is indisinguishable from a riffle shuffle. Martin Nash is a good resource.

Marlo was a nob? Thats one of the funniest things i've heard on this forum.

I believe, response to an earlier post, it takes 8 perfect faro shuffles to go back to the original deck order. Its not too hard to do, just support the bottom packets top roght corner with your index finger, and put pressure on one side with the cards.

It really isn't that difficult to learn the Faro

Spend an hour or so getting the hang of it and then practise regularly and its simple.

A....hour....or.....so....?

Lenoir, I am not worthy.

An hour? Yeah, right

Haha! I meant like...just getting the two halves to mesh and interweave. Nowhere near perfect, but understand the way they merge. From there you can slowly develop control over which cards fall first and lead up to perfection!
