Happy birthday!

Did you ask for those effects or were they sprung on you? Do you also learn from books? :)

Happy birthday.

Hope you enjoy your new stuff. I remember getting lots of new tricks when I was about your age (actually, a bit younger, I was into RPGs when I was 13), and it was always a lot of fun playing with my new toys.

Don't forget that you normally get a lot more value for money from magic books than you do from DVDs, and more from DVDs than from single tricks.

After all, Christmas isn't that far away!

Happy Birthday Deviant!

I'm going to expand a little bit on what the others have hinted at and for your birthday give you the true secret of learning magic. This is the very secret that all successful magi know, and what will nearly always guarantee success.....

The true secrets of magic are in books!

Props, gimmicks, and DVDs are fun - especially for gifts and special occasions, but since you're starting out it's an important secret to learn.

Enjoy your birthday and your gifts - but next time you're in the shop, take a close look at the books. I promise you won't be sorry!

P.S. Don't be shy asking for suggestions - there are a lot of good books out there and most members will fall over themselves suggesting them to you

I have a birthday soon! Someone name one magic thing to get please. Just someone randomly feeling like they think I should get ________. I know that's an awful way to figure out a magic item to get, so I'll narrow it down. Something using cards or coins. Okay forget it, I'm asking for a gift card to a magic shop. Oh and Strong Magic. If that is in stock.

I'm sure you are all very glad that I made this so informative post. :?
