Hangover cures!

Postby TheAlkhemist07 » Sep 3rd, '08, 16:38

Since its almost the freshers season I thought we could have a little collection of hangover cures for those of us who will be enjoying the delights of freshers!

I can definetly say the rock climbin and rowing are not cures however 1 paracetamol and a bottle of lucozade is promising..
Aparently FABs are good as well.

Advise please?

yes. dont drink to excess unless you can rest the next day. Start now, and you will be fine.

It might sound boring, but its the only way that works. And as an added bonus......

your body gets used to the low/no alchohol situation, so it takes less to get you off your face.

saving you both money, and renal care.

:D

and, by drinking less, you dont get hung over.

100% hangover cure

Just keep drinking.

If you are one of those "quitter" sorts then a fry up and a bottle of Sprite does the job.

If your a medical student then a I/V and a drip is meant to be pretty much the best hangover cure invented

Glass of water before going to bed. Then something greasy to eat in the morning. Then condensed soup later in the day.

Cold curry or Pizza for breakfast

It is of the upmost importance that the curry or pizza is completely cold, and not been reheated in any form

Failing that you'll get to the point where you'll just check the fridge and eat whatever you have as it is. Chunk of cheese should remain for these emergencies. Or else raid the tinned food and have tuna with a spoon from the tin. Then your heading the right way to being a proper bum student.

I find having the cheese before I go to get drunk helps, as it lines the stomach and doesnt let the alcohol soak through too quickly.

Without being too crude, a thing known as a "tactical chunder" at some point in the night out works extremely well....

Tactical vomiting seems like a poor excuse for people not being able to handle their drinks, plus a lot of money has been wasted to get them no further on with the night.

A big glass of water works well if you can find the kitchen sink or claw your head out of the toilet when you get home.

A freezing cold shower in the morning's good followed by a nice cooked breakfast.

I think this has raised a more important question of hangover excuses. All those little lies that come out explaining the behavior the night before and the current state.

It was the kebab, honest governor, not the bottle of whiskey I downed

I was feeling ill before we went out

and my favorite from a mate last weekend. He drank a double whiskey before looking green and heading for the toilet.

It was the pickled egg

2 pro plus sorts me right out, afterwards I feel totally normal!

I have heard eating salty crisps the next day aswell as drinking water gets rid of a hangover.

Or, drinking more beer the next day. Sounds stupid but it builds up the enzymes in your liver that you lost the night before, making you feel better. Absolutely no idea how I know that, I just like random facts...

For me it's always been a large glass of water. It won't be a cure-all - but it will definitely help with any dehydration issues.

I remember Jon Tickle searching for the best hangover cure on brainiac.
The best method was some paracetamol and a glass of water before you go to bed.
