Just found out that the son of a Family friend was killed in Afghanistan in the last few days.

I don't know the details yet and obviously I won't name anybody as the family have asked for a "period of grace."

It's the first time I've cried for a long time. He was a good friend and always a laugh.

Thoughts are with you and their family at this rough time ...

This conflict has touched many of our lives and my best wishes and thoughts go out to you, your family, and friends...

It'll be the second friend I've lost to the war. My other friend Tom was shot dead by a 15 year old 2 years ago.

That's awful, Lenoir. Too many young people are being sent off to die, and for what? It's really horrible.

I'm so sorry to hear that Lenoir, my deepes sympathies to you, his family and everyone who knew him.

War is a terrible thing but I have the greatest of respect for all those brave soldiers out there doing an such amazing job.
